Do you know what 1" of solid ice looks like?

It looks like this!

Before:

After:

We drove for two hours through an ice & snow storm last night. It was a little scarey losing sight of the road from time to time. The Jeep performed extremely well in very bad driving conditions.

It sucks when you can't tell if your lights are on. Happened to me a while back. Scary.

Re: Do you know what 1" of solid ice looks like?

Dn that sucks. Yeah I drove thru a bad snow storm. The grill and the lower air dam opening kept getting clogged. I kept pulling over to clear it out. Also the air vent between the hood and windshield would clog too and it would suck in moist air fogging up the windows.

Re: Do you know what 1" of solid ice looks like?

whoa. how did your windshield visibility fare in these conditions? wipers/defrost/fluid etc? did the HID's clear your headlamps or were you out manually scraping ice from them?

It was weird, in a good way. It was warm enough that the slush in the wheel wells just fell off. By the time I got home, the wheel wells were virtually clean. The windshield and side & back windows stayed ice free as well, just using the wipers. The only ice build up was on the front facia & mirrors, and there was a lot of it. The HID's stayed clear, but the fog/driving lights iced over, even though I had them turned on. The salt and sand trucks hadn't hit the roads yet and the jeep stayed relatively clean.

Re: Do you know what 1" of solid ice looks like?

Now that is a coincidence. Here's how mine got similar treatment in just a 20 minute highway drive thru a snow squall two days ago.

Isn't northern spring wonderful?

Re: Do you know what 1" of solid ice looks like?

Yea its pretty cool. I seen it in an email years ago saying it was canada but when i googled it up, its actually Switzerland...thats a lake not the ocean lol.

That said, I grew up in Newfoundland and we got some pretty nasty ice storms back there
