Re: Donít Forget the 2011s!

Much love to the 2011's.
I love my Blackberry Pearl 11 Overland still to this day love the color when it's clean. I just gave my Jeep a little love by installing the stainless steel door sill protectors. Probably my favorite vehicle that I've owned and at the time I loved my 4Runner I traded in.

Re: Donít Forget the 2011s!

Great post!

I love my 2012 WK2 V8 and 2012 JKUR.

Jeep bet the farm on these models and the Pentastar engine and so far I've had no problems with either. Both of mine get wheeled regularly too out here in Cali.

I don't like the antenna either. It does not work well with a Jeep cover.

I was thinking of buying those sill protectors. Do you think they would scratch easily if you dragged your foot by mistake? How are they secured, double sided tape or something?

I agree, and I have a 2014. Maybe a 2011-2013 forum and a 2014-2016 forum in the area above the general threads that lets you select specific topics (like troubleshooting, performance, export, etc.). That way people can talk about their WK2s or WK2.5s without interruption from the other party, but we can keep the general (merged) discussion too.

Re: Donít Forget the 2011s!

I kind of like the combined forum...but then I've got an '11 and a '14. Not sure I could get around to reading separate forums and a combined forum.

They're made of a pretty decent thickness stainless steel. It's got a satin like finish to it so it would probably hide scratches decently but most likely be scratched if you struck it hard enough with a hard soled shoe, particularly women's high heeled shoes. Overall i think it'll hold up pretty well to most men's shoes though as the rubber compounds tend to be softer that is of course excluding wooden soled dress shoes. It's held on by 3 pieces of double sided tape (2 lengthwise over the wide portion of the sill and then a thin lengthwise strip over the lip that covers the edge of the sill.) I think it adds a little character to the vehicle. Will snap a pic tomorrow and post it to this thread. Overall i think it will be a nice addition as when cleaning the sill to apply them I could see numerous small paint scratches that I didn't even realize were there to begin with. I can't stop thinking about mods to this thing even 3 years after buying because I'm now eyeing the illuminated sills and thinking I want them too.

This stuff's too addictive

Re: Donít Forget the 2011s!

As promised here are the pics of the door sills.
Image 1 shows the lip of the sill plate and give you an idea of the approximate thickness of the plates.
Image 2 shows the front plate with the satin like finish
Image 3 shows the rear plate which is my only complaint as it's pretty small from a protection standpoint. I have seen some listed on ebay with what appears to be a longer rear sill plate but I don't know if they're authentic and don't want to waste money of replica junk
Overall I like them and think they add a nice touch to the Jeep

PS - Yes I know my Jeep is dirty and needs a good clean inside and out but it's rained literally every day here in Florida for the past week.

Thanks for posting the pictures, looks very nice. I think I'll order a set from one of the dealers that sell on eBay or amazon.

I have had my 2011 Ltd V6 for 2 months after moving from UK and I absolutely love it! I have owned MB, Audi and VW and to be honest the Jeep seems to be every bit as well screwed together and the engine and transmission is very smooth and quiet. I did a lot of research before I came and test drove the 2014 both 3.6 and 5.7.

No mistake the 2014 is a fine motor but for me it just seemed a bit "watered down" in its looks. Ironically a bit more European like! I really wanted the Jeep experience and as soon as I saw the 2011 Ltd in Stone White with the light frost interior I just felt it was the right one for me.

I just love driving it and every time I see it in the garage or on street from a distance I think it looks perfect! All IMHO of course! Also nil issues so far which helps :-)
