Re: Drag strip

Awesome pics!! Maybe this thread will shut the guys up on this forum that seem to think their Hemi's are quick. Obviously they weren't designed to be so its not a big deal, but in all those V6 vs V8 threads I can't help but remember people always saying how the V8 will blow the doors off the V6. At 15 or 16 second 1/4 mile times you ain't blowin the doors off anything haha. A 15 second car used to be considered sort of quick back in the early 90's. Now to say you have anything remotely quick you gotta be 13 seconds or faster, and fast I would say is mid 12's and lower.

Yeah, we just went to goof around.....knew it was going to be slow so we had a lot of fun laughing at each other. I never even drove a v6 so I can't comment on performance but I do know the Hemi sounds so much better!!

Trip to the track has motivated me to work on my RX7......2500lbs and 400whp! Not set up for drag racing but you know it's quick.

Yeah the sound of the Hemi alone really makes it a different driving experience. That's why if I do ever get myself back into another WK2 it will for sure be V8 powered. My 12 Overland V6 was fine, but there was no fun in driving it. As for fast cars yeah I would imagine 400HP at the wheels at that weight would be pretty fun. I miss my C6 Z06 and wouldn't mind getting another one of those. Although not as light as your Mazda, it weighed in at only around 3000lbs with 505hp. Pushing that gas pedal down never failed to amaze me.

Yeah but your Z06 would sound WAY better than my boosted weedeater haha!!
But it's pretty cool when the rotary belches huge flames out the exhaust.

The Hemi certainly isn't quick, but you have to remember that a V6 in his truck would have run high 17s to low 18s.

Those big heavy ass 22s don't help matters either.

The CRDs are only faster on paper in a few misinformed countries. But that F6 is freaking awesome. I wish we got those here so badly.

I would bet with the stock wheels and tires I'd be in the high 15's.

Re: Drag strip

Best use of a GC at the drags is to tow something really fast in style.

I agree 100%!!

My goal was to get motivated to work on my track car that's been sitting for a few years......mission accomplished.
spent all weekend working on it and I'm shopping for a Turbo and wastegate right now.
