Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

I just noticed the driver's seat bottom cover on the left side is cracked and the seat heater doesn't seem to be working. Sounds like a conversation with the dealer as it's a 2011 with 68,000 miles on the extended warranty. Anyone else encounter the same situation?

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

Seat heater would be covered on the extended service contract if it's a MaxCare contract. I have some doubts that the leather seat cover will be covered, as it were, as this might be deemed "normal wear and tear".

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

Had the same issue with my Overland 2011 HEMi, driver's seat... was covered by warranty... mind ya, the stealer tried many ways to blame us for it....but at the time, my wife was driving it and she weighs 110lbs....so, not much a_s dragging there....anyhow, they swap it and never cracked again...

Oh, and we never used any treatments or chemicals on the seats, always used slightly damp cloth to wipe them down....

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

Morax, was that seat cover replaced during the 3/36 warranty period or post that on the MaxCare Extended Service Contract?

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

Had the same thing on my 2011, but it did it with in the first 12,000 miles. It was covered under warranty. Mine was in the same spot as well. No problems with my 2013.

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

Sounds great if they will cover what would normally look like normal wear and tear on that seat. Good to know since I have the "lifetime" contract.

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

I'll try to find some pictures Jim, it wasn't really normal wear and tear....every where else on the seat, perfect...but at that one specific place, had some cracks...pretty much like the OP's pic...

Re: Driver's Seat Cover Needs Replacing

I don't carry anything in the rear left pocket so it should be considered normal wear and tear. Haven't cleaned the seats with any fluids. The rest of the seat is perfect. Will have to make time for the dealer to look at it.
