Re: Driving through the snow today in PA (PIC Heavy!)

Why didn't you call it "Driving Through Rain"? That's not much snow.

I was kinda thinking the same. But I live in pa where my original home town got alot of snow and my current town doesn't get much.. Where I grew up nothing was canceled for snow and where I live now 1" cancelled Xmas eve church for cryin out loud..so some people think 1 inch is a lot. I think if there's not 6+" on the road it's no fun lol... A 2wd woulda handled the roads in the pics if u ask me..

Re: Driving through the snow today in PA (PIC Heavy!)

Having grown up in NE PA and learning to drive in "real" snow, I'll admit that down here below the "snow belt", things are not as exciting for my own winter driving--we rarely have actual winter driving... But what needs to be taken into consideration are others on the road who have a lot less winter driving experience. In that light, it's not the amount of the snow, itself, but how it affects the general population who are out driving in it! Controlling your own vehicle is just part of the equation...staying out the way of the other drivers completes the task.

Re: Driving through the snow today in PA (PIC Heavy!)

Lol I know it wasn't a bunch but it was the first snow I've driven in in a long time. If I could, I would drive up to some mountains this weekend after it snows on Sat here and play in the snow. I have lived in Vegas the past 7 years and when I saw the weather report across PA that day, I got happy lol.

I agree Jim... I was tense every time traffic started to get congested. I saw a Subaru switch lanes in very little space and got sideways. I mean it would be a dick move in perfect conditions. Wasn't the only occasion either.

Re: Driving through the snow today in PA (PIC Heavy!)

I didnt want to "rain" on the OP's parade, but since its already started.... that really wasnt alot of snow. A couple of inches, bah. I got 12" from the storm that just blew through on wednesday.

And to keep it JGC related, my '12 overland has Hankook RW11 winter tires...handled the "real snow" (lol) without any problems.

Great pics, and awesome dog! Enjoy that ride and be safe in that snow. I don't care what any of the hard core snow drivers say- coming from Southern Cal, I'm glad I don't have to deal with those conditions. Love that color choice too.

Better than the 20" of snow with 5-foot snow drifts we got! Heck, even our Honda was out the next day.

Thanks! The wasn't sold on the Saddle brown and I didn't like the idea of a non-black dash.

Yeah but that's the Pa Turnpike. It's barely drivable in July

Well, it's probably the best maintained road in the state...they actually seem to put the toll money back into the road!
