Scott, the big question is when. I saw your quess in the wagoneer forum, but there still seems to be a lot of waiting, kind of like with the three-row vw.

OP, if you are looking for an SUV with 3-rows of seating, and with the third row large enough to handle adults, you should look at the GMC Acadia/Chevy Traverse/Buick Enclave. My wife and I have a 2013 Acadia Denali and we are both in agreement that it is a great vehicle and both of us like it better than our 2014 WK2 Overland. The 3rd row can fit adults as we have had several trips with adults all the way in the back. The room is fantastic, the ride is great and the V6, while not as powerful as the Hemi in the Jeep, does just fine. I think the 6-speed transmission in the Acadia shifts better than the 8-speed in the Jeep as well. Not trying to bash the Jeep by any means, just like the Acadia better. Lets put it this way, both our Jeep and the GMC are leases, and we have already determined to purchase the Acadia at the end of its lease, while e are undecided on the Jeep.

Just trying to present another option to you. Good luck on your search.

-Eric

If you want to see the Wagoneer you better hope FCA sells lots of little Jeeps like the Renegade. 2015 Tahoe and Yukon ahave a far superior V8 to Chrysler's POS even 6.4l and are great rides.

You just need to cave and go get the Chrysler Town and Country. Interior is just as nice as the jeep, maybe nicer. Of course at limited level, not overland and above. I got the '14 GC limited last April in prep for twins. After a couple of trips to grandmas we realized we needed more room. We looked at all the 3 row choices and mini vans. We ended up with the T&C touring L with nav, and the dual row bluray. With all the discounts and rebates it ended up around $32k and the sticker was $38k. We have now had it since the end of December and I love it. Way more room then any 3 row and it is great on road trips. Very comfortable drive. We still have the GC for adult only outings. Happy with my two pentastar family. It also turns the T&C into a tire smoker when you want as well.

I like the Acadia/Enclave, but the fact that they don't have keyless entry and start is a deal breaker for my wife. She has decreed she shall never again have a vehicle without that.

When we have kids we might consider a minivan, but until then no. What we want the third row for is to be able to carry a couple other people in a pinch, and so we can carry people when we do have a kid in the next couple years...the vehicle after this one might be a minivan.

I don't think I would do a T&C though. I'm willing to overlook my issues with the Jeep because I love the Grand Cherokee specifically, for another Chrysler product like the Durango or the T&C I would move on. In a minivan I'd probably get a Honda Odyssey.

WOW!!! My girlfriend and I test drove an Acadia Denali just prior to getting the JGC and it wasn't even close. Just my opinion, but there was nothing better about the Acadia Denali. Not the interior, not the ride, not the engine, not the tech. I liked the styling a lot, but other than that, I didn't even think it was a close race.

Test drive the odyssey. Was a nice ride, but not in the league of the Nissan Quest or T&C for quality of materials. Also to get nav and blu ray in the odyssey you have to get the limited or whatever model it is that puts it over $40k. Too much cheap plastic and subpar leather for that price. If your 6'+, the odyssey is also lacking in leg room for the driver. The T&C has the adjustable pedals which really helps. The Sienna interior was the worst of them all. Haven't a seen plastic that cheap since I've been in a pep boys. Really surprised me. No where near what the Highlander interior offers. And that was the old Highlander too. The Quest would have been my first choice if not for the great price on the T&C. We leased it so no too worried about long term. If we still love it in 3 years then maybe we'll but it.

Have to agree with this. I looked at them a while back and compared it against the MDX. I think this was around 2007 when they were both new. The MDX was way better for the money. Did the same comparison for the Jeep and the GC won because the MDX was old and the new one didn't appeal. The new higher pricing didn't help the MDX either. I love the front end styling of the Acadia, but that is about it. I would lean more towards an Explorer if I was going to stay with an American 3 row.

I haven't driven the new Odyssey, but I've sat in them at car shows and such. My sister in law has the previous generation Odyssey and she loves it, I've driven that a few times and liked it fine...as much as one can like a minivan I suppose lol While I agree the materials aren't great for the money, you can't beat the Odyssey for reliability, resale value, and overall trouble-free ownership. To me, in a family hauling minivan those things are more important than material quality...the Odyssey also seems bigger to me...

plus Odysseys catch fire. What a great no cost option! Owners should be thanking Honda for this option. Obviously Honda stole a page from Jeep and GC which also comes with a flammable headliner at no charge.

If you need third row seating take a look at 2015 Tahoe or Yukon. Or if you can wait until the Summer or Fall of 2015 check out the new 2015/16 Discovery which is the replacement for LR4. The spot for the new Discovery platform is great. Jeep's ad agency could learn a lot from Land Rover's.

Re: Drove a 2014 Toyota Highlander today, my thoughts vs the WK2

Eh its a recall, the fuel pump is Denso made, so its a manufacturer that has components in many cars. It'll be repaired.

The new Tahoe/Yukon looks very nice, but they too are a little too big for us. They're also really expensive! Over $70k loaded...
