That is why Jeep wants some of that action with the new Grand Wagoneer. I'll bet they are priced right in line with them...

The Mercedes MLs and GLs are nice, but as SW03ES said, they get very expensive with options. For $60,000 I might look at one, but definitely not for $80,000+. I would still probably take a JGC over an ML with the same options at the same price. The Mercedes drives better but lacks off-road ability. Additionally, they are comparable in terms of niceness. In some ways the Jeep is nicer, and in some ways the Mercedes is nicer. If they were the same price, it would be a matter of preference (in my opinion), but the Mercedes is $20,000+ more when comparably optioned. It was easy to dismiss, for me at least.

What about the Infiniti QX56 or 70 whatever they call it now. It's around $70k nicely loaded with a 400+hp V8. My friend has one and I must say that it is one of the most comfortable rides I've been in. We had 8 adults in it no problem. Of course 3 of the wives were in the way back, but they said it was still comfy. The around view camera is pretty neat too.

If I spend over 70k on an SUV it will NEVER be for a Yukon or Tahoe. EVER. I'd much rather go with the X5 or jeep SRT. I understand there are people with different needs, who have to have a 3rd row SUV....If I'm over 70k and in need of the 3rd row the new escalade is looking mighty attractive all of the sudden. The new look escalade is a much better looking vehicle than the previous gen IMO.

I just can't see the value in a 70k Tahoe, especially now with new redesign. The Yukon isn't much better Looking either.

Maybe I'm biased....idk.

They are nice, but WAY too big for us.

I'm with ya. I have a hard time spending that kind of money for something without a luxury marque. Kind of like the Toyota Land Cruiser...I have no idea why someone would spend $80,000 on one...
