Early 2011 V8 Overland - QDII?

Okay, I'm stumped. I'm looking at an early 2011 Overland; build date of 07/20/2010. It has the 5.7L, but no QL. What I'd like to find out is if it has QDII (does not have ORAII).

The build sheet shows "Conventional Differential Rear Axle" and "Quadra-Trac II (R) 4WD System" in the Standard Equipment section, with no apparent mention of ELSD or QDII. This would seem to be a clear indication that the vehicle is not QDII equipped. However, most information I can find on here, other forums, and WK2Jeeps.com states that all V8 Overlands came standard with QDII. Did some come with QTII instead? Would the QDII be mentioned on the build sheet? (for what it's worth, the Jeep has what appear to be factory tow hooks in the front and they're not on the build sheet, either)

Unfortunately, I am not close enough to it to check the EVIC, but I've asked the seller to and he swears nothing shows up when he starts it. Would it also say "Quadra Trac" if it was so equipped? Is the 4WD system display on start-up also a later feature?

Thanks to anyone who can help shed some light.

Re: Early 2011 V8 Overland - QDII?

The QDII rear differential will have a motor off to the side of the pumpkin that activates the ELSD. QTII will not have that.

Also I think QDII has a 12 bolt diff cover where QTII has only 10 bolts.

Hope that helps.

Re: Early 2011 V8 Overland - QDII?

berk483 - Thanks. I'll see if I can get some photos.

For anyone else who happens to stumble on this looking for similar answers, the build sheet appears to be key. I found one online for a Quadra Drive equipped GC and it listed the Quadra Trac II, Quadra Drive II, and Limited Slip rear. Since this one does not list Quadra Drive and does list conventional rear, I'm pretty convinced it has the QTII transfer case only.

When I brought my 2011 Overland V8, QDII was standard, In 2012 it became an option which was one of the reason I brought the 2011 plus the software update to the transmission to show it as a 6 speed wasn't worth it to me.
