What's the downside/tradeoff of the Sprint Booster? If it's that easy to make the motor more responsive and economical, why doesn't Jeep just program it that way to begin with?

Jeep's throttle mapping is not as "quick" as other vehicles to help it work well off road where you don't want a "fast" throttle response when climbing over a rock. The Sprint simply reprograms the mapping to make it feel more responsive.

That doesn't sound terribly useful.

You can disable it by the click of a button while driving for offroading. It literally had no downsides except the price I cannot speak highly enough about this thing. It's brought life back into my jeep and made driving fun again.

All because of different throttle response mapping? It doesn't improve performance or economy, it just makes it "feel different?"

It sounds simple but there's a lot more to it. Trust me, I was a skeptic before I got mine, but it's response and shifting and off the line and over passing on the highway is incredible. I used to question my ability to pass people in moving traffic now I have full confidence the car will respond like it should. Shifting is smoother and you stay in the powerband at all times. Also because it makes the Ecu think you release the pedal quicker than you actually are it helps with downshifts and engine breaking when needed even when not in sport mode on the gear selector.

Honestly look at the sprint booster thread in the engine performance section. The reviews are all similar to mine and all 100% positive. I would literally sell this car if I was forced to remove this mod. No question about it, I hated how this car felt coming from sport BMW models and now I have that feeling back and then some.

Re: Eco mode OFF from now on for me. Better fuel economy?!?

If there is a 2014 3.6 liter GC owner in the DC Metro area who wants ECO mode to stay off when the car restarts please PM or contact me on my website www.smartstopstart.com.

With a couple of hours with your car I think I can modify the software in my 2016 SmartStopStart module to to remember and restore your last ECO mode setting when you restart the car. Then I can make this available to other 2014 owners.

Whoever donates their time and 2014 vehicle to work with me will get a free module.

Seems I may be the only Jeep owner of a 2014 that retains the Eco off when restarted! I posted this video on You Tube a while ago. I have no explanation?

I think it's only early build 2014 that doesn't retain the setting - along with the lack of Auto Entry/Exit mode - I presume yours is a later 2014

Do you have that working for the 2014 5.7 ?
