Eco Mode is designed specifically to get the best possible MPG in the EPA testing cycles - real world performance will vary.

I think that's a given with everything "green". It's all about consuming the least during testing.

That's why surveys of real world use should be taken over time to see how real performance with ordinary drivers is like.

Agreed. With over 50K, I have yet to see a significant difference with sport mode and eco mode that is not more readily attributed to my right foot.

Sport mode is much easier to deal with commutes where the traffic/speed varies notably and quickly, as well as mountain driving.
