Good luck. The service tech did show me on his computer the tsb # wasn't in their system. They didn't have the steering column software either so that makes me wonder. That's been out for some time.

I have had issues with other flashes working properly and causing other unrelated issues in the past. what I have found is that sometimes rebooting the whole system or better know as unhooking the battery cable for half an hour or more fixes the issues. you'd be surprised how many dealers don't think to do that in troubleshooting electrical issues like that. in talking to the dealer tech apparently the dozen(don't remember exactly how many he said) or so modules in the jeep are much more interconnected and chatter with each other more than you may think. Anyway not saying it will definitely fix it but its a quick and easy something to try when encountering electrical and flash update issues. Basically just brings all of the modules and systems back up gracefully, has fixed odd issues for me on two separate occasions one being right after flash updates.

Re: Economy Mode button, hate the default?!

I was probably too optimistic.

21-004-15 applied.
As the bulletin says:
WK vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine (Sales Code ERB)
• **ECO mode will not retain settings. If ECO mode is turned off, it will turn back on
after the ignition is cycled.**
• Software to correct a harsh bump feel during a 2-1 downshift.

It only addresses the 2-1 downshift...

Vehicle shifts better, how much better I'm not 100% sure yet.
Since it's pointed out that this update does not address the ECO button I'd assume further updates will?!

this is listed under Symptom/Condition as a statement of what the TSB addresses. think of it this way, why would they list things that the TSB doesn't address? agreed, the TSB is focused on tranny shifting but this TSB is technically supposed to address the ECO default selectibility, IMHO.

Exactly my thinking but it is what it is.

It lists under symptoms but they list what is getting addressed.
- 2-1 shift
- not ECO mode behavior....

I'd assume they list this because they know it's an issue people are having.
I know it's stupid but how else can you explain that?

Let's see what luck others are having after that update...

Well it is confirmed for me. I had the new update completed this week and no luck with my JGC retaining the ECO mode off setting.
Having said this; I will say that this last update has significantly helped the shifting/transmission problems I had been experiencing. The transmission is working a lot less searching for gears and it downshifts quicker to keep me out of the 'lugging' feel of being in too high of a gear at low speeds.
My guess is that the eco mode is simply becoming more and more like the standard shift points when the eco mode is off. <---- My opinion

Agree, I'm experiencing the same thing.

I'd like to ask a question, have any one of you see a difference between driving with eco off and driving in sport mode?
I would say, it is the same.
Driving in S mode, echo switch automatically to off.

Sport Mode is totally different than Eco on or off.

Not even close at least in my case, completely different shift points. Don't you experience a downshift right when pull the shifter back to Sports mode? I do. Up-shifts much later as well, that's why it's called sports mode I suppose.
