Economy Mode button, hate the default?!

I'm wondering if there is re-flash that would enable the driver to chose a default?
I don't want to be told that I have to start in Economy Mode with impossible early shift points , it takes the last bit of fun from the Grand Cherokee 3.6l engine...

Is there a way to change the default On after vehicle starts, basically invert the Eco Mode switch behaviour?

Can't say how Eco and sport feel on the pentestar but on the hemis it's night and day.

Just curious, was open road driving last week and wanted to pass a B Double road train so I pulled the - paddle twice to drop to 6th and up shifted to 8th as I built up speed and passed it.

Question is It didn't appear to want to return to "D" mode once I retuned to a steady 110 (as it does in my wifes Subaru Gen5 Liberty/legecy). does it remain in Sports mode or will it eventually return to D after a period of time?

Cheers

Took my 2014 V8 4x4 Summit in for oil change, tire rotation, that steering column recall reprogram (P64) and there was an RRT (14-087) regarding HVAC that they had to do BUT NO TRANSMISSION SERVICE BULLETIN 21-003-15 SHOWED UP.....ARGH. My service tech who is nice asked me where I get these things (referring to the half-shaft axle replacement thing I told him about last year too).....but there was no service bulletin that would pop up for mine....which makes no sense since it should include mine. I even had a printed out copy. Double argh!

Well....I have to take it in for a hopefully miner lift gate closer latch sensor thingy which for that I need an appointment (earliest is two weeks out) so will insist on the Service Bulletin 21-003-15 be performed at that time. It does say that wiTECH software level must be 15.02 or higher so perhaps they are behind. Dunno.

Who all has had the Service Bulletin 21-003-15 performed on a 2014 4x4 V8 GC? Did you have to specifically ask for it???

Thanks....I'll try again. My service tech is good but the whole service department seems a tad disorganized. Will bring the print out of it in again.

The ECO off default not holding is only for MY15. This got off track early in the thread when someone misinterpreted the Aug of 14 cut date for builds to mean that "any" rig built before that qualified when only MY15's built before then do. Sorry dude, I am as bummed as you, I friggin hate ECO's lame a$$ early shifting but a simple extra slap back of the shifter makes me happy :)

You mentioned misreading the TSB, but all it says is:

I was referring to the ECO only TSB that the poster quoted (http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0809814.pdf).

I had already written off as a hoax the TSB you quoted teasing us about changing the ECO default. I did so because it has zero of the language or tech actions listed in the ECO only TSB 08-098-14 for MY15. The MY15 only TSB speaks to a "reconfigure" that involves the BCM. The MY14 TSB lists only the ECO default as the only "new" item and yet it only has the prior version language and steps for a TCM reflash. Huh? So they changed the ECO default fix from a BCM reconfigure (MY15) to being included in a TCM reflash (MY14). Hmm, so a TCM reflash can effect the BCM? Interesting but I don't buy it. They just don't make sense sometimes. They are probably under a lot of pressure from us owners.

They boffed TSB 21-003-15 (5.7l) and TSB 21-004-15 (3.0l/3.6l) in stating that they addressed ECO default on MY14.

14SummitHemi - thanks for the additional info!

np, I'm hoping they meant what they said that the point of the revised TSB with only one addition, ECO default, was to do just that. I think they got caught up in this being a revised, as in delete old ones, trans flash TSB and so sure that all was carried forward properly with prior revisions that they just forgot to include the BCM reconfigure steps for the ECO default. Proof will be when/if they revise this TSB to include it once they see their error.

I wouldn't have to "slap her back" so much

"uconnect says at times vehicle phone requires service please contact dealer"
Interesting. I never had that message, using iPhone 5s and 6, that's actually one of the things that work really well on mine, no complaints in general with the 8.4 system, well, when I think of it, the Nav is not good (worse than the one in my 2009 VW Passat) and the speed lockout is insane...

Rewrite, that's bologna, they already have it in MY15.
It actually worried me first almost week was getting crappy MPG in my new MY15 compared to my MY14.

Until I realized the ECO button was off.
Zero difference how it feels, but MPG definitely improved.

This is for V6 gas anyway.
