Thanks for the info! I'm a little confused with the product description (82210512AB). So is there a input for this adapter under the front driver dash on a WK2?

Thanks! So still no easy way to install a brake controller. Disappointing that Jeep cannot do what many others including their own Dodge do by having an easily accessible harness to connect to under the driver dash…

Re: Electric Tow Brake Controller

This looks suspiciously like the plug in for the brake controller harness?

If so, it's located just between the brake pedal and parking brake pedal.

I don't have my truck yet, but that looks like the OBDII connector:

Re: Electric Tow Brake Controller

I think pattyboy was on to something regarding the 4-pin gray connector. After removing the silencer panel you can visually see the gray connector mounted to the top of the main harness. Attached are pictures I took this morning. This looks suspiciouly like the connector in my old GX where all I had to do was plug in the supplied pig-tail and connect the 4-pigtail wires to my electronic brake controller. If this is the correct connection, then what is missing from Jeep is the pigtail connector. In the GX this was shipped in the glove box along with instructions, in the Acura it was allready plugged in under the dash and the 4 wires were taped off. In the latter case, all I had to do was locate the taped off wires and connect them. It's my opinion that any vehicle having the facory installed 7-way all ready has the underdash wiring for installing a brake controller. See this video link for more information .

Re: Electric Tow Brake Controller

Good find. Yes Dodge has been doing that setup for sometime. I'm hopeful that Jeep has followed!!

Re: Electric Tow Brake Controller

Open up the link posted by plasticar,( mopar accessories) open up the pdf file just below the price...print out the instrutions ,you well see it mostly plug n play but requires us to dissassemble our dash to get to the back of a power port...to plug in one half of the harness......the other side require us to splice into our brake light switch....not to bad but who wants to pry out or dash componets....they should have made it a little more easier......good luck doing mine in about 2 weeks deer hunting this weekend................pattyboy

Re: Electric Tow Brake Controller

In some of the pics it looks like there are two harnesses. I wonder if you get the full towing package that you only need the small harness to plug in under the dash. Strange that the plug in port found under the dash looks like it has enough wires to accommodate a brake controller. Looking forward to hearing back from WK2 owners that attempt install.
