About the Electro-hydraulic power steering...
Are some difference on ride quality between the Electro and old pure hydraulic?
The electro is like Servotronic? Means, more soft at low speed and more hard at high speed?
The switch from a traditional power steering system with an engine belt driven hydraulic pump to the electric power steering system (with an electric hydraulic pump) happened back about mid November.
While some vehicles that have had this electric system have had complaints about steering feel, I've not read one single thing about a noticeable difference between the two systems in the Grand Cherokee.
Look under the hood. Electrically powered hydraulic assist steering won't have a drive belt pulley on the pump. Build date will also help; if you were built before Nov, you have the traditional engine drive system. After Nov, electric. If you're built in Nov, you'll need to crack the hood (don't remember exactly when the switch was made).
