Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

OK.....finally got a hold of the sales person.... I should have just contacted the General Sales Manager right away since the sales person has been swamped all day. It is a large dealership.

Yes, I can get the employee pricing. The financing options he is going to confirm for me.

No, I can't get that vehicle since the dealership owner and another dealership owner are friends and had agreed to a dealer swap over lunch today (the dealerships are about 90 miles apart). The black Summit for a mineral gray summit....both 4x4, V8's no DVD...just the way I want it (except the 430N in both too) except now the wrong color. MSRP $48,465

Mineral gray is a close second but the black is amazing. So, I could pick up a mineral gray one tomorrow at employee pricing.....thinking about it. Disappointed that I should have bypassed the sales person and had the general sales manager post it as sold.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

Or....the other dealership is getting a V6 4x4 Summit in black any day now since it was just unloaded from the railcar.......and the first dealership could snag it.

Do I want a V6 instead of the V8 now??????? V6 and 430N???? Employee pricing, perhaps zero percent too????

Gotta think this one through.....

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

Go with the v8. I got my summit v8 black and it's incredible. Gas milage is way better than I thought it would be and I could not imagine how hard the v6 would have to work when driving up hills or passing on highway. This is a one heavy vehicle.

Also, the 430n is great, or atleast it will be great when the update comes out. The only thing that I wish the 430 had is dead reckoning since I park in a garage. Overall I am glad I chose not to wait for the 730.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

^^^^^ Got any photos???

I never tow anything.....so tempted on the V6 at this pricing. Would save $3500 with V6 and employee pricing plus if 0% interest and less gas cost. Seems that would be prudent even though am willing to spend for the V8.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

How do you post pics? I have some poor quality ones on my iPhone I can post.

Dan- in my opinion the v8 is worth the additional costs (and wait time). I will not be doing any towing either, but this is a very heavy truck and I am glad I have the extra power when merging and passing on highway.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

Thanks Danco.....good to know. I have a 2005 with V8 Hemi and am used to the power even though I don't tow anything.

Just got off the phone....should not have been dealing with a salesperson but had felt obligated since he was the contact in the first place. Gotta love (sarcasm) Florida car dealerships. Yes, I can get the employee pricing but that is NOT the same as participating in the employee pricing program.

What's the difference? Well, in Florida they have "dealer fees"....so those apply since it is employee pricing, not the employee pricing program. At this dealership that's $699 plus a doc fee of $223. So a grand. I'm sure these fees can be whittled down a bit though. Is it worth pursuing.....dunno.

I really don't think I want Mineral Gray....I really like Mineral Gray but the black just ties in so well with the black and saddle interior that I think I gotta go with Black exterior.

Mannnn your killin us here with all this. I say just wait for the one you ordered. Why the rush? Also, if you wait you get 100% exactly what you wanted, not to mention an even later built model that will have as many updates and production run fixes as possible.
Now your thinking of the V6....no dont get the V6 who cares that you dont tow either way your spending 40 some thousand dollars you want to get the best of everything. Gas cost differences between the two are very minor. Not to put peoples decision down on getting the V6, but to me as a car enthusiast, I just saw no fun in driving the V6 version. All im saying is that if you settle for one of the ones available now you WILL regret it later. Sure right off the bat your going to love it if you bought one now, but in a few weeks when your original ordered one shows up at the dealer your going to be wishing you had.

Just wait man!!

No, I am not an employee.

Gonna call the dealer in a few minutes to get the details....that is, if the email is correct which it should be.

"So that I can feel confident that we have exhausted all means to earn your business, I have obtained permission from the General Manager to offer you EMPLOYEE PRICING. This means you will be able to purchase a new or pre-owned vehicle at the same price as our employees, while still taking advantage of incentives and rebates up to $5,000.00 off.

Since your first visit, we have also partnered with several additional lenders who have modified their approval requirements and are able to offer well qualified customers, interest rates as low as 0% for up to 60 months."
Notice that the quote says our employees. This would mean dealership employees. Dealership employees do not get the chrysler employees discount. They are probably referring to whatever discount they give their employees. Dealers cannot give the Chrylser employee discount unless they want to lose money as it is below invoice. The only way to get the chrysler discount is to be an employees or qualified family member.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

---- The later production is an advantage for sure. The V6 one was built on 1/20.

The differences are: V6 vs V8, polished vs bright polished wheels, 430N vs new 730N, Jan build vs Feb build, and $3K less with less money spent on gas.

Both are Black Summit 4x4's.

I've ruled out the Mineral Gray. I really like Mineral Gray but after seeing a Brilliant Black Summit in person...I have to say it is an AMAZING combo with the saddle/black interior.

Re: Employee Pricing...for a Summit!

jp467 - It is employee pricing but the salesperson tried to say the dealer fees would still be applied even though employees wouldn't pay them. He acknowledged that the fees wouldn't be charged with affiliate pricing but also seemed to say that they didn't want to fully honor employee pricing with a Summit. If push came to shove....and I contacted the general sales manager and pressed the matter (it's his email) that he has to honor what he wrote, I would probably get it. But they wouldn't like it. I prefer to simply not give them the business in the first place if that was the case...and never buy from them in the future.
