The 6 cyl. is designed to use E-85. Look what it says on your yellow gas cap.

Sorry, I don't have a yellow gas cap. I don't even have a gas cap.

Thanks
Read just a bit further in that section of the owners manual.
It is designed to run on ethanol blends up to the max in the OM.
It isn't a "flex fuel" engine that can run on E85, but can handle 10%.

Your attorney might be more likely to jump on you for not reading the owner's manual regarding E85 in the GC.

The semi official story is that someone wanted to kiss up to a small contingent of corn growing farmers, and thus their administration mandated alcohol.

There are other chemicals that can deal with emissions and anti-knock, but this was shortly after the huge mtbe battles where some towns were running into very bad tasting water allegedly from mtbe. Where mtbe came about because of all the folks running around with brain damage from lead poisoning.

Ethanol works... there may be other additives that work better, or not. One problem with ethanol is that it consumes vegetation that used to be used for other stuff, and ALLEGEDLY part of the increase in gas prices has been a result of not enough ethanol to meet "bush gas" requirements.

Oh well... at least we can still buy gas.

Re: Ethanol Blended Fuel for my V6 Question

Attitude- I live in Omaha and have used the 10% stuff when I had to. I use premium 98% of the time and get slightly better mileage with it. I have the V6 Pentastar in my 2014 JGC Limited and it has the E85 sticker inside the gas door.

I have driven mine all the way to Las Vegas pulling a trailer and ran into everything possible at the pumps on the way there and back. Through the mountains at elevation and everywhere in between...no problems.

Oops. Sorry, I forgot. Only have my '15 for three days. No gas cap, however, big yellow label on inside of gas filler door reading E-85.

All 2013-15 3.6L V6 engines are E85 flex fuel capable. Are you sure that you're not the one who's trying to read between the lines in the owners manual?

I wouldn't burn that E85 crap in my vehicle even if I could get it for free.
