I felt that way too until a gentleman I go flying with let me drive his 2004 Ram 4x4 Crew Cab (yes, with a Hemi) last fall. It had 210,000 miles on it and from his matter-of-fact manner he stated he only had one issue after 100,000 miles: a broken steering rack from an accident. Everything interior-wise worked, the engine ran beastly-strong and it went straight down the rough roads we were on. Chrysler has bet the farm on the success of the new Grand Cherokee being a Jeep flagship vehicle and from what I hear out of contacts in Auburn Hills, Warren and Dearborn, it appears to be a good bet.
