^^^ why? If OP has no want/need for it, why should he waste his time on it.

Re: Extended Test Drive V6 Limited

The V6 is a good engine both engines have good points and bad points.

You are SUCH a freaking idiot.

To everyone here besides bigrband, sorry for the crudeness..

"Go bang 2 random chicks. One with protection, one without. See which one FEELS better. ".

Also...report back 9 months later to see which one was the better choice.

Just because one "feels" better one the test drive doesn't mean it's the smarter choice, you assclown.

If you are going to spend 30-40k on a vehicle, please buy what "feels" better to you.

Re: Extended Test Drive V6 Limited

I agree.. Buy what you can afford and what best suits your needs. You have to purchase the vehicle and make the payments, not us.

No offense to anyone who has a V8 but some people seem like the V8 is the only thing to own or it is so much superior to the V6. To some people yes and others no, it's almost like which is better LCD/LED vs Plasma.

Re: Extended Test Drive V6 Limited

I Vote LCD with Led lighting! I don't understand the engine battles. We all own a Jeep we're here to support a brand learn about the brand we clearly care for. Whether we have a V6 or V8 one is not more superior than the other. Now if I still had my 2010 with the 3.7 V6 in it I wouldn't argue one bit lol.

But, when you are spending close to $50,000 for a vehicle, it only makes sense to buy one with an engine.

Anyone care to argue that point?

I don't know the difference in grade between the east coast vs. west coast mountains, but they are more than double the elevation as compared to NC or TN. I think I would definitely have a V8 if I lived in a mountainous region in any part of the country. Just my preference.
If you use 87 then you're not getting the advertised HP so why bother?

I did my calculations based on the EPA numbers. In my V8 vehicles I usually get better mileage, and in my V6 vehicles, the same.

Road grades are national standards so of course the west isn't steeper per se. If anything roads tend to be steeper in the east because many roads were built when the standards were less conservative.

As I said earlier elevation probably isn't a factor. If anything the V6 with its twin variable valve timing and better breathing heads would be more adaptive to higher elevations.

Re: Extended Test Drive V6 Limited

In my brief time as a member, I seem to observe that there is an ever so slight rift between some of the V6 owners and some of the Hemi owners. By posting my impressions of the V6, it was not my intention to start another round of the V6 vs. Hemi discussions. I was merely stating that for my needs, the V6 was adequate. It wasn't powerful, but adequate. I have driven the Hemi for a 20 minute test drive. It clearly has more power. I may end up with a Hemi because of the current incentives, and the fact that I am having a hard time finding a V6 that meets my (and mostly my wife's) color requirements. If I end up with the Hemi, it will definitely be more fun, and more costly. But neither engine sips fuel. That is not why I am looking to buy one.

If I end up with the Hemi, I hope I can focus on the increased passing power and climbing ability. If I can find a V6 Limited configured acceptably, I hope I can smile a little more the pump.

eric.

Well said! Do what is best to your situation and what you are comfortable with. Only you and the wife have the say in what you get. Good luck!!
