Extended warranty 100,000

Hey guys

So yesterday Jeep called me and offered me to extend my warranty. I have a 2013 with about 20k miles on it, no issues, just on stand-by for the booster recall.

They offered me to extend it all the way to 2020 or 100,000 miles full cover, all mechanical, electrical, bumper to bumper.

Im planing on keeping it for the long haul since next year I will be getting married and my fiancÚ needs a new car.

The deal they got me was a total of $2950.... I made a first payment of $295 and then i will do 18 payments of $145...

I have till Aug 1st to cancel or continue... I think its a decent deal.. Have you guys have experienced extending a warranty before? Any stories?

Sorry to give you bad news but I just recently bought the Mopar, Lifetime, Maximum Care Wrap Service Contract from Zeigler's for $2,185. Give Bob Cline a call. I know prices recently went up, but not what Chrysler/Jeep charged you. Don't forget whether they are telling you or not they are charging you a finance charge for allowing you to make payments.

You are correct in that miles and time make a difference. I had about 1,500 miles and my Jeep was about 6 months old when I bought the Service Contract.

Re: Extended warranty 100,000

I had 17,500 on my '11 Laredo 4x4 and 2 years old when I bought the MaxCare Lifetime. I paid $2,350 for mine from my dealer and that included a small increase because I was over 12 months and over 12,000 miles and it was a 4x4. The dealer matched an online quote I got from one of those sites.

Re: Extended warranty 100,000

I bought just before the 12K/12M mark. But the next price would have been just an extra $100. (bought from Zeigler)

Don't know your location but if you are in the US you are getting ripped off. I got Lifetime Max Care $100 deductible from Zeigler for $2135 earlier this year.

Re: Extended warranty 100,000

I bought my car as it was turned in at 36K miles. I paid $1700 for a 2 year 24,000 mile service contract with a $100 deductible. To date I have used it twice. HVAC blower replaced and a sensor in the knuckle of the front suspension needed to be drilled out as it popped out of cruise control on a trip to Florida from NY last winter. Their code reader also detected a motor bearing that needed replacement in the A/C. The service contract people fought it, but the orlando Jeep(Colonial East) fought back and made them cover it. So almost $1700 worth of work in FL, where they gave me a rental for free, as they had to re-align all 4 wheels and add refrigerant as eel as the drilling out and replace the sensor and the motor in the A/c system. I want to keep this beast for the long haul, but WK2 are very hard to work on if it is something major or electrical. Look at you battery under the passenger seat and the fuse box loaded with Omron fuses... I will buy another after the 2 year expire, but don't want to pay loads, though having a wK2 without a service contract seems insane. I will go back to a WK if I have too, as they are easier to work on or even a Wrangler. all of the power stuff can be a nightmare if you have to chase down and electrical short. Yes I have owned a VW that was notorious with electrical problems. It can drive you nuts. also had a GMC envoy that had to have the entire front console replaced and rectified by the state as well as chasing an electrical problem. I'll be looking in another year.

Are you talking about a Mopar/Chrysler Service Contract because your story seems a bit percular. I have never heard of Mopar fighting a dealer over a repair on one of their Service Contracts. Sounds more like a third party Service Contract.

Re: Extended warranty 100,000

No this was a 3rd party insurance policy, service contract. Sadly the Jeep dealers in the area are loathed enough that people drive hundreds of miles to buy a new jeep, but look for recently turned in Jeeps, not do to bad service departments, just shady business people that badger you 24/7. I bought this service contract in NY and needed to use it in Florida. Its much like health insurance with a co-pay. The a/c thing that was fought was because it was February, and they thought they couldn't tell if the A/C needed service, but in Florida temps were in the 80s and the Jeep is a black limited with black leather so the A/C was very much being used. The Jeep service manager took care of all that stuff. I wish our Jeep dealers were somewhat close to the dealerships in Orlando, but they are not.
