Extended warranty prices options

Hi all, I've been reading on here for a few months and can't really find what I'm looking for.
After reading about all of the 14-15 model issues I would rather take my chances with a 12-13 year limited or overland.
I found a nice certified overland, miles are much higher than I wanted but its clean.
How much did you all pay for the maxcare 7year/100-K extended warranty?
Should I consider a 3rd party warranty?
Thanks

Re: Extended warranty prices options

Do not consider a third party "warranty" over a Mopar MaxCare Extended Service Contract. Attractive pricing is readily available online from sources such as Ziegler which you can use to buy directly or to use as leverage with "your" dealer for a better price.

Do remember that the 7 years and mileage starts from original in-service date, not the date you bought the previously owned vehicle. It also can't have more than something like 48K miles on it, either...check the specifications on that.

Re: Extended warranty prices options

The dealer hasn't confirmed the start date of any extended warranty coverage yet.
The vehicle is certified by the jeep dealer selling it and offers a 3 month 3000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
They would not quote me the maxcare price, said the financing manager needs to do that.

Re: Extended warranty prices options

Yes, in dealerships, the finance folks usually quote the extended service contracts (they are not "warranties") but if a salesperson isn't willing to pursue that on your behalf, they may not be worthy of getting your business.

You can get a competitive quote here:

Mopar Vehicle Protection: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE! Quick Quotes. Buy Online.

I paid $2180 for the MaxCare Lifetime Extended Service Contract ($100 deductible). Your cost would be a little higher because there have been some minor price increases and you're buying on a pre-owned vehicle that's a few years old.

Thanks for the info, Jim. I got a quote for mine, it's $2,310.00 for 8yrs & 120,000mi ($100 deductible). I'm strongly considering this. I'm in it for the long term, 15 years and 300,000 miles. Hopefully.

That's hogwash. Or, possibly reason to not exactly trust them.

I got mine [price and warranty] from the lady that runs the express oil change lanes.

I think it was one of the nice guys at Zeigler that suggested trying that.

That sounds like a similar price to what the discount dealers are selling the Lifetime contract for. (Assuming you didn't buy an EcoDiesel which doesn't have a Lifetime Extended Service Contract option)

Yeah, I got the oil burner, so 8 years / 120 is the most I get.

Re: Extended warranty prices options

I just paid $2475.00 for MaxCare with $100 ded. After I got the marketing material from Jeep with $150.00 discount, but when I called the number, they wanted $3200.00. So I called back to the online dealer and got the $2475.00, with 6 months 0% on Jeep credit card. they were charging some ridiculous fee to finance for 2 years.

That's what I would have purchased had the EcoDiesel even been an option for me at the time. I needed the higher mileage, even though I'll likely only drive mine for 5-6 years before the next one comes along. Lifetime did that for the Hemi, but for the EcoDiesel, the 8/120 is still a pretty good arrangement.
