Some MaxCare benefits, such as the rental/loaner car start from day one and apply even on OEM warranty fixes.

Re: extended warranty queston

The price will be dependent on current mileage, age and factory warranty status. I bought mine while still under factory 3/36 and it was a good price IMO. Chrysler-warranty-online.com. It was around $1800 two years ago.
You do not have to have dealer service but I highly recommend following the schedule for your type of use (A/B) and keeping documentation.

Re: extended warranty queston

I purchased the MAXCare back in July. Went in for some service and all was well, except that with MAXCare, you are required to get oil changes every 5K miles and not every 10K miles. For me this is no biggie, as I believe 10K on dino oil is way to long, and was doing oil changes ever 5K anyway. The window sticker says next service MAX Care and its only 5K miles whereas the service before I purchased Maxcare was 10K interval.

First I'm hearing of this.

Are you referring to the supplemental "regular maintenance" contract that covers oil changes? What you describe isn't part of the MaxCare Extended Service Contract that I have in my hand...

I dont have the supplemental service contract. Just the lifetime Extended warranty. I printed out the terms and conditions, and cannot find a separate maintenance schedule. It just refers to the maintenance section of owners manual. I am not sure if my dealer typed something incorrectly that prints the window sticker or what. I will check next time I go in.

Re: extended warranty queston

The maintenance schedule for your MY14 is {10K miles/1 year/dash indicator tells you}, whichever comes first, for oil changes unless you are doing the "hard duty" "B" schedule, such as if you are running a taxi service, etc. Very often, dealers like to confuse things with their own "recommendations" which are more about bringing in profits.

From a sample/blank MaxCare Lifetime contract:

"YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: Your responsibility is to
properly operate, care for and maintain the vehicle as
prescribed in the owner’s manual supplied by the
manufacturer. You should retain all maintenance receipts to
avoid any misunderstanding as to whether or not the
maintenance services were performed as required.

Depending on circumstances, Chrysler Service Contracts
reserves the right to inspect, investigate, or demand proof of
maintenance BEFORE performance of repairs."

Your oil change dealer can put whatever mileage interval they want on the oil change window sticker, but as long as you change oil per the owner's manual, you're covered.

Think of the mileage written on the oil sticker like GPS directions. It's just a suggestion; you remain in charge.

Yup...and the first thing I do after getting in my vehicle post-oil-change, is to put the sticker into the trash bin in front of the rear seats.

Nope, they just want you back and spending money sooner. There is no requirement to deviate from the Chrysler maintenance schedule just because you have Max Care.

Re: extended warranty queston

I picked up max life for my 2016 srt for $2900; $100 deductible. They wanted $3250. 10 miles on vehicle. Test the quotes, price goes up quite a bit with years and miles. I hope to keep mine so lowest cost is day one. They obviously get the time value of money while they hold my cash for the 3 yr factory warranty, but the sell price is like double if I were to wait and purchase then.

Re: extended warranty queston

u also get the free rentals for service, hopefully little of it, from day one with the Max Care...some r lucky to have dealers with free loaners if u bought vehicle there....again, not a benefit you really want to have use but it's there.
