Called my local dealer this week and looks like I'm able to start speccing out a new 2014 GC Altitude. The appearance package looks awesome, but I'm really disappointed with the available options, which, according to my dealer, only include single disc remote CD player, engine block heater and trailer tow group. Considering the new Altitude doesn't come with premium sound, HID lights or backup camera (despite early press releases), I'm really bummed. I feel like the 2012 Altitude had way more options. Anyone else considering the new Altitude? Thoughts on the lack of features?

That's really disappointing. You're better off buying a brilliant black laredo/limited/whatever, powdercoating your rims, and making whatever other appearance modifications you like. You're paying close to Limited prices for a Laredo-level vehicle.
I have been waiting for the Altitude option to become available in the ordering system so after I saw your post I sent my sales rep an email.
Although im disappointed with the lack of options it won't keep me from placing my order. Overall im happy with the available options and looks from the pictures I've seen. Backup camera can always be added and fancy lights are nice but not necessary.
Compared to the 12-13 Altitude looks wise the 14's is just as cool. Feature compared it's lacking. I would buy a limited the way I wanted it and then buy Altitude parts as the become available. By the way the 14' Alt looks, it will be enough to make the changes without getting into too much extra expense. However, adding features to make it close to a limited is what will get costly.
They could have done so much with this Altitude and made some options available.
Anyway, I hope you order your Jeep and enjoy it to the fullest!!!!
