Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

Maybe...maybe that price before ttl. The truecar price doesnt include ttl, if you read the fine print.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

I would say the 33k price before ttl would be a good deal. I would not expect more than that.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

I bought an '11 Laredo X, 4x4, 70th anniversary (msrp $39.9) and financed $31.9k out the door. I could've sold my car instead of trading it in and got $1-1.5k more but it wasn't worth the hassle to me so really I paid around $33-33.5. It was end of the month and end of the quarter. Good luck!

The vehicle will not change value at all on 1/1/2012. Bluebook value goes by model year. The 2011 you are considering is already well over a year old and will take another depreciation hit if it's still on the lot next summer when the 13's are released.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

That price would have been a low-fair offer in 2008. Today, nope.

As for 15% below MSRP, the deal is about 13% below sticker. When 1/1/2012 hits, the vehicle will hit the 1yr depreciation and I'm the one taking the big hit. If the dealer wants to get it moved he might be willing to take some of that.

This is all part of buying a new car. If you don't want to take the big hit in depreciation you need to look at something used. The dealer is there to make at least a little profit. They are not going to cover your depreciation.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

Get a 2012 and avoid overpaying for a depreciated 2011.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

It'll be much easier for us to discuss the deal if you talk to us about pre-tax/reg/fees number. Since tax differs in every state/county, your 6% sales tax can save you $1k over my 9% sales tax. Somes states have $299 doc fees and some have $55.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

First I didn't mean "cash" specifically but yes cash, check, or credit card is what I'm talking about. They much rather make a sale than make a risky loan (yes I know not all loans are risky but it's a fact of life) and it isn't the best market for car loans right now. Manufacturer's financing is the way to go if you must finance I don't disagree there especially at 0-2.9% for 60 mos. With a good down payment and again NO TRADE that is just as good to the dealer. I'm in NH so no sales tax, and total ttl was $27 and a $299 admin. fee.

Re: Fair pricing or outragous?

Risky loan?? You are completely wrong.. Dealers get commision on those loans that's how they make part of their profit. Its no risk to the dealer once you sign they get paid by the bank and they are done with it. It has no effect on the dealer if you ever make a payment or not. You can always get a better price if you are financing because the dealer is going to get a comission for the loan where if you pay cash they don't.
