Major changes expected for Fiat Chrysler’s 5-year plan

This looks to favor the Jeep brand. If the changes move forward we will be seeing a lot more development focus with our Jeeps. Wondering if that will push out the JGC new model design or speed it up.

Any word Marlon or Milous?

Interesting read, and...

"Other expected detours from the original plan include keeping the Dodge Grand Caravan based on market demand through 2016, and production delays to several vehicles, including the Maserati Levante, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Jeep Grand Cherokee and others."

I've been around awhile now, "old school" if you will, and this scenario, like life itself, keeps coming around again & again, kinda like ground hog day !
I can't help but "feel" again this "feeling" of a Bad Omen.
At 1st I was all for the Fiat-Chrysler Marriage. Pure sentiment perhaps as my 1st car (& new) was the Fiat 850 Sport Coupe ('71), but now ?
Divorce needs to be on the table . . . I'm not suggesting revolt, just (Hopefully) an amicable Separation leading to Divorce IF there are Irreconcilable Differences. And I see this Progression of Marchionne's apparent inability to see beyond his nose Frustrating ! "Raping" Chrysler's bottom line $$$, and Diminishing the Brands WILL have a ripple effect across the board, Mark My Words" ! Motivation and Moral will drop, as will Quality (again?). Employee levels will also drop off as the # of Non-Chrysler USA built CARS dwindles !
Back in the day, I never had much liking for the Mitsubishi versions of Dodges or any other Iterations of Non-Chrysler built Chryslers over the years, TILL FCA USA ! Marchionne needs To GO or someone needs to make him truly aware of OUR companies Historical facts - TAKE OFF THE BLINDERS & NEARSIGHTED GLASSES ! The 200 is a FABULOUS CAR even with a suspect 9 speed tranny !
I wish Mr. GILES had the "audacity" to take on Fiat and get this SEPARATION underway now before BOTH Companies Drown in FIATS Floundering Performances month after month & Years before & after the Prearranged Marriage ! All IMHO of course.:(

It is becoming pretty clear that Sergio Marchionne's main objective is to doll up and sell/merge FCA so that the Agnelli family can cash out. Before the Chrysler you would have to pay someone to take Fiat off your hands, so he has used Chrysler and a fortuitous drop in Gas prices to put Jeep/Ram sales into overdrive and make the financial picture look decent.
Sergio is playing some kind of financial games to boost the books and keep the whole house of cards from collapsing because of the mess named Fiat. His main focus seems to be on grandstanding and releasing fancy plans that never materialize. There is a great article on Autoblog that echoes some things I have heard from chrysler engineers who are friends of mine.
I doubt the new GC will be released before 2020, and the Grand Wagoner even after that.

The troubled Alfa Romeo Giulia needs serious help [UPDATE]
I do not have any friends on the inside, however, as my opinions (above) on the matter suggest that I tend to UNFORTUNATELY agree with your MY20 vs. MY19 on the "new" G.C. ! In the current "FCA-scheme" of things, whats one more year ! ? This OBSESSION of His with ALFA / FIAT in AMERICA - while refusing to take full advantage of all the CDJR Dealerships is BAD Management Period ! It shows His True colors - of not really caring about CD in the CDJR Future ! AND His only caring of JR in the CDJR world is because these 2 are & have been the MONEY MAKERS ! The further shortsightedness of declaring the 200 "dead" &/or have some other "mediocre" manufacturer rebadge something & call it a 200 . . . B.S. ! His priorities for a cohesive FCA LLC, have been compromised by the Agnelli Family Wishes !
WELL, what ever the outcome, CDJR will never be the same, UNTIL or IF they can find themselves an insider leader & get the $$$ backing to Break Away from the FIAT grip of death ! My hope is for CDJR run by Giles as CEO ! They may have to downsize for a while, but in the end - unless the Wall Street Scenario repeats - CDJR should be just fine !
. . . and occasionally we can dream . . . can't we ?

The 2014 Chrysler Five Year Plan

Sent from my apple hardware from swiss:)
WOW "SOX," not only do you have access to OUR Allpar site, but you also have APPLE stores TOO ? AND "Swiss Cheese ? Next trip down to Melfi ask (politely) if "they" - the Agnelli's - would consider selling OUR (that is America's) CDJR Company to Mr. Giles (of current FCA Conundrum) ! That is while it still is CDJR . . . i.e.; before it becomes just Fiat-Jeep-Ram US ! Gotta Love these ALPS, a beautiful thing to see. :) :)

I tend to disagree with everything that was just said.
I'm a proud Jeep fan so of course I would have liked to hear Sergio say we will never merge and no one can equal our abilities and so on and so on. But false bravado is a recipe for becoming extinct.

And say what you will about FCA, the current regime allowed product line development like never before.
I went from owning a Maserati an MB S550 and GL to where my current garage has a grand Cherokee overland a Durango RT and charger hellcat sitting next to my Maserati. And when I do take the Maserati out now that I have a hellcat, it feels kind of slow and weak. That's a Ferrari V8 I just bad mouthed.......

So if anything is wrong with FCA, It is that the operational guys don't get the new design cycles shorter and that they don't have the grand Wagoneer a full size jeep pickup, and a ram based SUV on the market today to still some sales from the competition.

If they get the new product introductions under control they will keep making money! And profitability is all you need to keep going.

If it hadn't been for Fiat, would there even be a Chrysler today? Chrysler was not exactly rolling in cash and IIRC was on the verge of, or actually was in bankruptcy. Jeep might have survived, but would most likely be wearing a GM or Ford emblem today.

I don't know whether or not Sergio is doing the right thing, but he has a better view of the global scene than most of us.

LOL. If it hadn't been for the Government they wouldn't have survived. Jeep wouldn't be wearing a GM badge either because they to wouldn't of been here.

I think Sergio is looking to pass off to the highest bidder, conglomerate. He was pushing for the GM merger (may still be) and now he's in talk with Ford to take collaborate on the compact car line (Dart/200). If he doesn't win big with the new 5 year plan, we will see a huge change.
