Few Things I Noticed on my 2014 V8 Summit

1. Even on a cold start, oil temp never lower than 122 degrees. Seems odd. Normal run oil temps are then 225 degrees. I remember my 12 Overland usually was at 180 degrees.
Anyone else have the same thing? Otherwise seems like its reading about 50 degrees high.

2. Centering of steering wheel off to the right a bit. Bringing to dealer
next week for alignment. Probably happened while they were driving
around Detroit doing their Quality Assurance Test of 28 miles.

3. Center console now has a light in lower compartment.

4. TraveLink responds so much faster than the 2012 Overland.

5. Spare tire cover is much lighter and has a cheap feel to it. No doubt that
is some of the weight my Summit lost (46 lbs) compared to my 2012
Overland.

6. I could have sworn that the overhead console lights in my 2012 Overland
had 2 of the 4 bulbs which were LED's. Now all 4 are incandescent. Pretty
dull.

7. Liftgate is a close fit on left side. I wonder how hard it would be to shift it
a little to the right. So much for quality control. And to think my Summit
was pulled for a 28 mile Quality Evaluation Test.

8. It's funny, now that the WK2 has a digital voltmeter, they got rid of the digital readout for the coolant. Just have the usual coolant analog gauge above the fuel gauge. Also noticed that when the ignition switch is in the ACC position, voltage reads 8 volts. Switch it to RUN, then it reads 13 volts.

But so far, in all of the 115 miles I have put on it. I love it.

The Liftgate misfit is troubling....especially after the special "quality" evaluation test.

Re: Few Things I Noticed on my 2014 V8 Summit

Ill check the temp thing once I go somewhere next and post back. both of the lights in my center stack are halogen from what I see, ugly yellow. there is a post on here how to change the first set to LED however the 2 map lights are soldered on the circuit board and you cant change them. I will check my lift gate also and let you know.

What do you mean the center console now has a light? Are you talking about inside of it?

As for the overhead lights, I test drove a 2014 Overland and the overhead console looked identical to my 2012 Overland. Two of the reading lights were LED, then the other two larger map lights were blue tinted incandescent bulbs. The LED bulbs are obviously very warm white colored though to match the other standard bulbs, but im almost 100% sure they were still LED just like my 2012.

Ok, maybe they are halogen, but 2 of them on the 2012 were LED's. All 4 of the 14's now have a dull yellow color.

The LEDs in my MY13 are a 'dull yellow' as well. It would look out of place if they were bright white and all the others are yellowy.

Like AJS800 posted above. The lights on his 2011 also have 2 LED and 2 Incandescent bulbs.
