Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

This question comes from a guys discussion in the break room at work this morning. How do you refer to your JGC? Truck or SUV?

Yes, we get bored at work.

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

For me personally it's neither. When I'm referring to mine I call it either "Jeep" or "The Grand"

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

It is not the question of idle minds. There has been discussion here of do you call it a car or a truck. That was never resolved. I am confindent it is an SUV though.
For what it's worth, my wife now refers to it as the "beep-beep Jeep" paraphrasing Eugene the Jeep for whom many say Jeep got it's name.

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

I too refer to mine as "The Jeep".... If you call it a truck my 4 year old will correct you by telling you "It is not a truck - It's a Jeep" Gotta raise them right!

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

It's neither a car nor a truck. It's a Jeep, and that's what I call it...and it is an SUV.

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

It is an SUV - but it can also be a truck.... I don't really tend to call mine anything... I just drive it!

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

I think on my title my jeep is listed as a station wagon! Its defiantly not a station wagon, truck or a car. Its a Jeep!

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

I just call it a Jeep, but when people hear that they always think I have a Wrangler.

My brother in law calls my JGC a luxury vehicle. He says a Jeep is a Wrangler (or CJ as it was known before it got wider).

Re: Fill me in on the proper Jeep terminology.

I call it "Jeep" or "my Jeep" or "the Jeep". It's an SUV. I may start calling it the "Grand Cherokee".
