I read somewhere that you get some extra features if you activate the NAV at the dealer, but I could be wrong. I bought mine with the 8.4AN. I also read that it costs around $600 to activate the Navigation. If you haven't signed the paperwork yet, you might be able to negotiate for a little lower price.
Personally, I like the navigation in the Jeep, especially the ability to see upcoming turns in the driver's console (have to turn it on in the Nav settings), where the speedometer is displayed.
