fire extinguisher

Quick question for you guys out there. I just purchased a twin pack of extinguishers and they both are showing 3 quarters charged. Is that normal?

Re: fire extinguisher

no, that's not the norm. I have extinguishers that are 3+ years old that still show 100%

At 75% they're still good though!

Re: fire extinguisher

What type of fire extinguishers? If its your everyday run of the mill type the material used to extinguish the fire can do serious damage to your GC's electronics etc. Just FYI. For vehicles I prefer extinguishers that use Halon 1211 or Halotron. There are folks on this list who know a lot more than I do and may provide some additional info.

Here is the pic of the box. They are rated for A, B a d C fires.

Also, if you notice on the box, the picture of the guage shows the same level as on the bottle.

Well, if it's my car, I will just let it burn, but I always keep one in the car if heaven forbid I see something like that with someone in trouble. Actually, I started to keep one in the car after I saw some guy lose control of a camping fire and someone had one in their rig. After that moment, every car had one

Re: fire extinguisher

The fact that the picture on the box also shows it as 3/4 charged might indicate that this is actually what they consider "full." But maybe you could email the company just to be sure. That's what I would do, for peace of mind.
