Re: Firm Leather Seats

I drove 2,300 KMs on our recent family vacation and not once did my back or butt hurt. I've had a BMW and two Audis and all three seats were very uncomfortable. Then one day I was watching a professional car driver talk about the proper seating position and he was over 5'10" regardless of whether you have sports seats with extra thigh support. Lo and behold my last Audi before my current Jeep stopped hurting my butt and back. The moral of the story is, adjust your seat properly and don't act like it's wimpy to drive a bit closer to the steering wheel. Again, take a look at professional drivers drive. They are not lounging backwards on their seat.

Re: Firm Leather Seats

I do 5 hour trips back and forth between Chicago and Detroit pretty frequently in my Overland V6, and I've found the seats to be amazingly comfortable. Never had any aches or issues.

Re: Firm Leather Seats

Make maximum use of the power lumbar support button on a long trip. Quite refreshing.

Re: Firm Leather Seats

Has anybody noticed that the leading edge (front) of the drivers seat always seems to be higher then the back. I've tried everything to adjust the seats to get a flatter seating area but I always feel the pressure on the back of my knees.

Nice, until your front airbag goes off and smacks you like a boulder.

Re: Firm Leather Seats

Totally agree regarding the firmness of the seats. Before I bought the Summit, I drove a few Enterprise Limiteds for about 1200 miles. They had some miles on them, and I guess the seats were "broken in" a bit more than the new seats in the Summit.

Re: Firm Leather Seats

Mercedes seats are the same at least the E550. On long trips the are much more comfortable.
