I remember reading that comment too. Obviously this is a driver specific issue, but I can say that for me the console armrest height is perfect for resting my elbow and using the Autostick shifter.

Re: First 10 days- impressions, likes, dislikes?

I think the door mirrors are too big....creates a blind spot when turning corners. I also agree about the arm rest being slightly too high, but that can be compromised by raising the seat a bit.

Re: First 10 days- impressions, likes, dislikes?

I'm exactly 2 weeks in to our new Overland. Overall I am very pleased with the vehicle. All of the electronic gadgetry is nice. The ride is super smooth. The V6 has more than adequate power.

I do a lot of my own maintenance and the oil changes on this vehicle are a breeze! I love the convenient location of the oil filter.

At first I also noticed the "blind spot" created by the thick A pillar and mirror housings, but I'm now used to that.

I really wish the mirrors had a power fold in option. That is the one feature from our old car (Chevy Tahoe) that I miss.

Overall she's been a great little SUV and I'm very happy with her.

Re: First 10 days- impressions, likes, dislikes?

I like this vehicle more now, after four months of ownership, than I did after the first 10 days.

New owners tend to be hypercritical of every little thing and don't tend to simply sit back and enjoy the ride. Shit will go wrong in some vehicles. As proven by the numerous polls, the overwhelming majority are small issues, and some are simply minutia that are incredibly easy fixes. (i.e. a simply software flash) Some people will never be happy and of course, the occasional troll with the 1st post claiming this is the worst vehicle in the world.

I love this thing and make no mistake, I drive this thing like it's made to be driven.

They do, there is a button on the door you push and they both fold in. I use this after I park every day Or do you mean something else?

That's what he means. Hit the button on the door and they fold in.

This isn't an option for us here in the U.S. on the JGC.

LOL - these A-pillars are small to me - we just came out of a Nissan Armada - you can hide a bus behind those A-pillars!

Damn - I wish that was offered in the US - I would like that for parking!

Also noted above, the headliner color could be better matched to the Summit interior, but it is not a major issue.

One issue that I did have yesterday - I wish the NAV had more gradations on the zoom - 0.5 zoom was so close in that I could not see the next major interstate cross, and the 2.0 zoom was so far out I no longer had any meaningful detail. I was really wishing for a 1.0 zoom, which would have been perfect! Oh well

I do really like the thickness/heft of the steering wheel - very substantial!
I love the lightness that the saddle dash adds to the interior, and the general luxuriousness and quiet of this GC.

Have only driven it twice, but this thing is awesome!!

Ah you don't know how happy you almost made me. I thought maybe I was mistaken and mine were just broken. Then I saw the next post and noticed you were from Australia.

That would be a slick feature. Odd that they make it available for export, but not domestically. I wonder why?

--- Because the Aussies stumbling through the parking lots would get injured bumping into the side mirrors...it is a national requirement for power folding mirrors....Fosters!
