I think it fits well, but I do wish Jeep did something unique like Ram did on the new 1500. I tried the one in the 300 and felt it sat too low, but it looks like this one sits higher and should be a bit easier to handle/use than in the 300/Charger.

Now that the paddle shifters are here, the t-shifter could be replaced by a push button, dial, or voice command for that matter ... Aside from appearances.

I have a 2011, so please excuse me if the '12 or '13 include any of the likes I list.

Likes:
Leather seat stitching
SD card slot
Dash display
Radio/Nav screen display and controls
Blue interior lighting
Grand Cherokee lettering on the front doors in place of the chrome strips
Sharkfin antenna
Diesel option and 8-speed tranny (Possibly, but would need to drive)

Dislikes:
Wheels
Lower front facia
Grill
Steering wheel
Gold interior trim on the Summit

Dislikes: Recent auto design trend of all manufacturers to go rounded, softer, neutered and jeweled, especially for SUVs. See BMW, Porsche, Acura, Jeep: all are guilty though perhaps customer oriented to soccer mom. Let's not lose aggression and angularity completely, eh? The smiley winged grill and squinty lights are not growing on me as had been hoped. Chrome is last century. I tried the T shifter in a C300 and did not care for the trigger release button but that will likely become a non issue after use.

Bottom line: Gotta give continued kudos to Jeep, the WK2 and recent gen refresh sure looks to be a big hit. Impressive. Carry on.
+1. I have exactly the same thoughts towards the 2014s. I can live w/ the new rear end and the squinting head lights. But that Compass looking simley face has to go. The 2014 SRT looks amazing though!!

Another dislike is the area where the shifter is mounted. The "aluminum" bezel thing is not symmetrical. It is like they set the shifter and then designed the bezel around it. Why couldn't it be a straight line?

The big media center is nice! and also the customizable middle LCD screen in the dash.

I just realized that it is the same w/ the pre-2014s. I wonder how I never noticed it so far....

New specs for all engines with 8-spped slook good. V6 towing goes up to 6200 with 8-speed. Don't mind the front grill change. To me it doesn't look like the Compass, the Compass looks like early 200 GCs which had the same grill desing more or less. GCs have gone from body color to chrome to body color to chrome for a while, so big deal. 8.4 would be great, paddle shifters lovely, no saddle is a sad loss to me (My summit has it and I love it). I would have gotten a diesel if it had been availble. Bottom line, my 12 Summit V6 is gonna be around fo a while though as I am fine with it as it is. Still, Jeep did some nice things with the 14 and I bet its gonna be a hot seller like the 11-13 have been.

Re: First Look: 2014 WK2 Likes/Dislikes

Was there for the unveil and got to sit in both the regular GC and the SRT. The new interior is incredible, the leather is like butter, we had to go to the high end Range Rover/Bentley to find leather as nice. The red SRT on stage had a saddle interior, so I'm assuming it will be available. The steering wheel is one of the nicest I've wrapped my hands around, beefy, but well padded. The T-handle looks a little odd, but I could get used to it. Love the new front, looks more aero dynamic and modern. Love the new exhaust tips, they flow with the body instead of 2 round pipes.
In person the Jeep is an amazing refresh, I'm really considering trading our '11 in on a new one. The '11 looks so dated compared to this refresh.

Didn't get any pictures because the hurried us off stage so they could start the TV interviews.

I wonder how much room the CD player will take up in the center console(Under HVAC controls)? Or is it mounted under the center armrest storage area?

Talking Re: First Look: 2014 WK2 Likes/Dislikes

I dislike
The headlights they do not fit right at the bottom make them the same size. That space on the bottom looks like a after thought. The srt front with the black grill looks stupid for a 65k price . Hate the srt wheels

I like
The interior and 8 inch nav screen. 8 speed tran.

I guess my 05 will have to last a little longer.

Re: First Look: 2014 WK2 Likes/Dislikes

Full LED taillights (instead of just LED running lights) should have come on the Summit and SRT's since they cost over 50G's. No more flipper glass rear window.

But I still ordered one anyway.
