Well, yesterday (Thursday), I decided to take my Jeep to my dealer and have the transmission reprogramming for smoother shifts performed. They also found a few other things to update as well.

I also thought that was a great opportunity to have the constant "ACC/FCW Limited Functionality"-issue taken care of which virtually pops up every second time I start the car and put it in D.

The updates were no issue at all and they thought they might have resolved the ACC-problem with one of the updates as well because according to them, the message did not reappear. I was very skeptical because I am convinced it is a hardware-problem and guess what? The moment I wanted to drive off the lot, it happened again. I made a u-turn and scheduled another appointment for the following morning (8 AM). Since I was told that work on the ACC-system would be complicated and could take quite some time, I was offered a shuttle-service home which I gladly accepted.

I haven't heard any news 'til now so my car will be gone for the entire weekend...:(

Hopefully, they will figure out what's wrong but somehow, my gut is telling me it won't be that easy...

Although it is not a major thing, I think it's important that this issue is resolved. Granted, I don't use the ACC-feature that often but the FCW might come in handy some day - you never know. What I certainly can't handle is that I'm constantly getting the message that there is something wrong almost every time I start driving - That's too much for me to handle...

My 2015 Overland 4x4 V6 just started a rough upshift from 2-3 and it has been fine for the last 5K miles, and I constantly get the message "ACC/FCW Unavailable Wipe Front Radar Sensor" for no apparent reason and on beatiful sunny days with no obstruction and sensor is clean. My dealer is unfortunately not very good, and when I took it to them for the first service this past week I explained what was going on. Instead of following TSB 21-030-14 they simply just flashed the PCM/TCM and didn't clear the adaptive values and do a quick re-learn. They also stated couldn't duplicate ACC issue. When I got in my Jeep they had greasy foot prints on my mat, carpet, and door sill area. They had grease on my armrest too. When I lef the dealership firm 2-3 shift still very present and an hour later the ACC message once again appears. I have taken pictures now of each time it's happened to prove to them it exists.

I hope your dealer is much better and gets things resolved for you. I don't have a very friendly service department. My last vehicle was an F-150 and my dealer was phenominal and always took care of anything I needed. I was hesistant about buying this vehicle and now quite frankly I regret it.

I'm curious what's going on with my ACC/FCW-system. I have heard several people complaining about the message "Wipe Sensor" so it seems that happens quite often. I think there are even YouTube videos out there...

I, however, only get this "Limited Functionality"-message without any instructions/reasons WHY there is a limited functionality. I was always under the assumption that this particular message only pops up when there is a temporary problem so I waited quite a while before addressing it.

I just have 1K miles on my Jeep and never experienced any rough shifting so far so it's hard to tell if the software-upgrade helped.

I can confirm though that my vehicle was initially returned with some grease on it as well - right on the chrome below the driver's side window and a bit on the upper part of the interior of the driver door.

So, I just got off the phone with my service adviser and according to him, they could duplicate the problem. He told me that the bumper sensor was probably a bit off and will be re-aligned and re-calibrated which takes some time. According to him, I should be able to pick up my vehicle on Monday afternoon.

Hopefully, that does the trick. I'm already happy that they could find an issue so that I won't be getting the "couldn't duplicate"-solution...

Sometimes it takes awhile to "break" in front of the dealer...I had that issue recently with something and on the fourth morning they had it, it finally "did the deed" so they could zero in on the issue. I truly believe that our vehicles like to play with our minds sometimes!

I think it's more like incompetence on part of the service department...that or they flat out don't take the time to properly troubleshoot because that's time/money Chrysler will not reimburse them for.

I had to go to three different Jeep dealerships in my area until I finally found one that performed good work.

In my case, there was no issue with competence...the vehicle just wouldn't do what it had been doing for me until that fourth morning. Once it actually "failed", they were able to quickly troubleshoot and repair. It's hard to fix something that isn't broken...and with no codes being thrown.

I don't like the folks on the sales side of my local dealership, but the service department is top-notch. The mechanics aren't fire-walled from the customers, either...it's not unusual for them to speak with or even call a vehicle owner directly to discuss something or ask a question, bypassing the service advisor for expediency.

Sometimes it is indeed tricky when you are dealing with an issue/defect that isn't constantly present. When I took my car in to service on Friday morning, I even took the time to take my digital camera and aim it at the speedometer so that I could show them that the message is still there - and you guessed right - that morning on my drive to the dealer, the error-message DIDN'T appear.

Check to make sure the bezel is still on the sensor. I was having the same problem, and found that the bezel around the FCC sensor was missing and was never there from when I picked the care up. The dealer couldn't even figure out that was the problem. I ordered a new bezel and problem was solved....no more FCC malfunction msg. Even though I complained several times about the potable, would you believe the dealership still charged me for the missing bezel?!? I could have made a bigger deal, but want worth the hassle for $20.

Thanks!

Well, yesterday, I could finally pick up my Jeep. Turned out they had to replace the camera module behind the windshield/rear view mirror because it was non-responsive when they wanted to calibrate/program it.

How does the bezel look and is it located at that location or is it something located at the sensor in the lower front bumper?

Funny thing is that when I inspected the area where they replaced the part, I noticed some sort of cover behind the windshield which I THOUGHT wasn't there before - but I could be wrong though...

This took much longer than I hoped and the service wasn't great, either - but at least it's working again. I already got a warning message 'BRAKE' on my way home - that was a relief.

However, since I was paying close attention when driving, I also noticed that my steering-wheel is a few degrees off to the right when driving straight. I don't know if that was always like that since this is a known issue from the factory. I doubt it though because I'm quite sure I would have noticed that earlier.

So I'm wondering if the service department screwed up (again) when they aligned the ACC/FCW-system.

I'm not a technician so I would LOVE to know if it is possible that the crooked steering-wheel COULD - in theory - be the result of the repair they just performed.

If anybody knows the answer to that - please let me know!

Meanwhile, I scheduled another appointment to have the steering fixed. that's on Tuesday BUT with a different service-department....

GC glad you got fcw/acc fixed but sorry to hear about alignment, very odd.

i didn't know there's a camera behind rear mirror but did notice the big 'enclosure' there. i thought the fcw/acc was all sensed by the radar in the front bumper area.

i've not had the 'BRAKE' warning appear at all yet, and don't know how (or necessarily want) to try to 'test' it. i just checked and the feature is on in settings, set to 'far'.

Well, since yesterday, the alignment is fixed as well so right now, I'm driving a perfect Jeep...:D

I didn't know that there was a camera, either - certainly not for the FCW/ACC-feature. After doing some research, this camera seems to have several functions - I think it also monitors light for the auto high beam assistant.

I also didn't want to try FCW so it took me some time to figure out that there was something wrong and that the error-message was indeed legitimate.

I set it up to far (which is the higher sensitivity) as well but I decided to turn off the auto-break feature. I simply don't feel too confident if the vehicle might all of a sudden brake on its own - especially since it is sometimes triggered for the wrong reason like traffic approached in a turning lane - which is the only scenario so far where I got the 'BRAKE'-message.
