Hi everybody,
Just came back from a weekend at the sand dunes, this is the same place where one of the Dakar stages is held, great place, great experience, hope you like the pics.

Here I am taking air off, pressure used was 20 PSI, I also took off the froont lower fascia, I'm glad I did it or for sure the pieces would have been all over the place.

In the dunes...having fun..

The Grand Cherokee performed extremely well, and I had no previous experience in the sand, running stock tires.

Great time running down some big sand dunes..

Going down..and getting ready for a small river in front of us...

Water was quite deep..but no issues at all, low gear, 1st and 2nd., going slow and it was just smoth croossing.

As you can see...the some dunes were really big, you had to be carefull not to let your truck go sideways or you might end up rolling over..

Another angle just to show the place...I'm right on top getting ready to start my descent.

Last one for now...

All I can is that I was very happy before...now...after 2 days of trying the 4x4 benefits, and experiencing some of the things it can do...I'm even more thrilled than ever.
It took me a little over 3 hours to wash the engine, chasis and get rid of all the sand, but it was worth it every minute and cant wait to go back again, in the meantime I'm back to my city driving enjoying my super nice clean JGC.
Rgds.

Great pics! Definitely post more (and some video, if you take any) when you go again!

I wish there was a place near me where I could do that... :(

You guys are nuts taking your brand new jeeps in that shit.

Thats what beaters are for... I use my 2001 Grand cherokee for these types of trips not my 2015.

Well, down here you dont get the option of having cars for city, offroad, etc., my thinking is that things are purchased to be used, if I bought a jeep it was because I wanted to know what it feels like and what it can do, now I feel really cofident on my decision, now I know that I can go and have fun with friends in the sand...and I can also take my wife all dressed up to a wedding...this is exactly what I wanted...and I got it !!..very happy with my Jeep.

I'll try to upload some more pics later.
Rgds.

Hi again, in our group there were 10 trucks, the smallest was a Suzuki Vitara, and then there were Chevrolet S10, VW Amarok, Ford Ranger, Land Rover, Toyota SW4, etc., here is a pic of the whole group at a stop having lunch.

And by the way...the only one that had trouble was the little Suzuki crossing a river, water was deep and the truck was small, we had to tie him up and even so it wasnt easy gettting it out, he ended up with water in the cabin..but none in the engine, it took about 10 minutes, his engine started and off we all went.here is a pic of the rescue..

Mine is a Limited 2014, its the export version, not sure if in the US the Limted comes excatly the same, foor what I've been reading mine came really complete and among other things it does come with the off road package, meaning air suspension, hooks in front and back, etc.

Many thanks...but my plan is not to go any deeper !...my idea is to have fun, to get the best out of the jeep without huge modifications, its also my everyday car and I like it very much looking and running as it is...so at this time I dont think about any other mods...but rest assure I will take more off roads trips !..ha,ha...and of course when the time comes I'll share the pics.
