Nice. You sound like my wife givng me crap after spending so much time dealing with the oil change issues this weekend.

No, only 3,500. I decided to get a change early, just in case any bits broke loose during break-in. Figured it's cheap piece of mind... turned into a cheap pain in the ass!

Re: First oil change for my '14 didn't go so well..

I think waiting 10k miles for the first oil change is insane! There's a lot of extra metal particles floating around in the oil from break-in. I always change the oil on a new engine around 1000 miles. My new Jeep was done at 1200 miles with Mobil 1 full synthetic and a Mopar filter...

I also run a new engine very hard for proper break-in while others like to baby it for 1000 miles. To each their own though...

I like to do my own oil changes. Like somebody said ... if you want to do this right, do it yourself.

Where can I get oil filter for 2014? Worried about this new part number.

I got one from my local dealer $13.76 + tax. Part # 68191349AA, says M0-349 on the box. Also available here for $7.10: 68191349AA - Genuine Dodge

Dumb question. It's a different oil filter for what engine? V8 or v6? Jeep dealership was busy so I went down the street to valvoline. Now I'm nervous. No oil lights are on so that's a good sign. And not for nothing but I knew more then the momo's at valvoline.

If you are sure you know more than the folks at Valvoline, then why are you asking, after having them do the work?

Maybe they not so dumb ... they the ones with your money ... you the one who be nervous.

But if you don't know how to do it and you do it yourself, then it's not done right

I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing it's different for the V6 model.

The 2014 V6 uses a different filter than earlier WK2s.

CAUTION!!!

The 2014 PentaStar V6 uses "new oil filter" part# 68191349AA (MO-349 on the box). The "old style filter will not work". The new filter has a protrusion on the down side end with a small dia o-ring that fits into the housing bottom. The new filter is said to have different cap o-ring also. The new filter does not come out with the housing cap. Remove cap, filter stays in place until you pull it out.

Using the old filter in the 2014 will result in low oil pressure.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Just asking because I read about someone who had low oil pressure. You have a point. As far as I know the V8 engine is the same as my 2011 is, just different tranny....

Also I hate reasoning questions that might have been answered already but how in the hell do you reset the oil life monitor? The 2011's you used to stomp on the gas pedal 3 times with the ignition only on. I can't figure this out.
