First Road Trip

In about 2 hours my family and I will take our first road trip in the Jeep to Miami, Fl. I'm a little anxious as i haven't driven this vehicle on the highway much and I have never driven my personal vehicle this far. I'll post updates after we arrive. So excited!

Re: First Road Trip

Nice - enjoy the road trip and share your experience with us. We who would rather be on a road trip but can't right now are jealous of, and happy for, you. I have found the JGC to be a comfortable highway cruiser.

But, how long is your road trip - where are you coming from? You say you're going to Miami FL, okay, but if you're coming from Hollywood CA that is 2,700 miles one way.

But if you're coming from Hollywood FL, that is only 20 miles.

Re: First Road Trip

We just arrived. The trip started in panama city, FL so it was about a 10 hour drive. The jeep did phenomenal! My mom (a 3x lexus owner) even commended the ride quality. Fuel economy was great averaging around 25 mpg for the trip. Surprisingly (or not) the car never felt like it wanted for more power even loaded down with 5 people and their luggage.

Sounds great. My mom liked a road trip we did last March. 8,000 miles and nine states, in 3 weeks. And she is 77 years old. The JGC is very comfortable.

Enjoy your road trip, and drive safe!

And Victor is right, without pictures, this thread belongs in the Fiction / Fantasy section.

Re: First Road Trip

Welp I didn't get any pics of the car while on the trip we did get plenty of pics of Miami and even spotted a new NSX in traffic. My wife, who is a die-hard South Beach Tow fan got to meet the owner of Tremont towing (the company on the show) as well.

Re: First Road Trip

Awesome. I took out my GC for a north eastern road trip for 4th of July week. DC to Cape Cod, Cape Cod to Toronto Canada, then finally Toronto to DC. Averaged 25 mpg and the family was comfortable and content the whole way. These things are built for people who like to drive...
