Re: First Snow in New England

Maybe I do have a problem with my Jeep then. I hear a grinding/growling noise when the front tires engage.

I wonder if that has something to do with the front drive shaft, there is a TSB out for a shudder. I too have experienced this but that was back in April and since have not had an issue, snow is to fall soon in my part, we will see what happens.

Re: First Snow in New England

Are you sure its not the traction control kicking in? it will make funny sounds when it is activated. Next time you hear it see if you traction control light is blinking.

We have been getting snowed on up here in Anchorage for the last todays.

I have to sway coming from my 2007 two door 4x4 dodge ram to the jeep is AMAZING!!! I put the blizzaks DMV1 on mine they are a great tire. But our biggest problem up here is the ICE. I still might stud these tires but will see.

It is the traction control. I checked on the way into work tonight. I only heard it on the sand and when going WOT from a stop so it must be that. The orange light turned on when I hit the gas in auto mode on a wet uphill start. I heard the noise and noticed the light blinking at me. good call.

Didn't notice it but I'll look for it. My other daily driver is a 2009 and I have seen the TC light on that one in deeper snow...and when it comes on I do hear the brakes working.
