first test-drive GC – loved it

Back in the US; drove a couple of new Grand Cherokees: V6 Limited and V8 Overland, both with 20s. Really liked both. It’s not a sports car of course but pretty flat corning, strong solid feeling. Even V6 feels strong. 8-sp very responsive. Honestly couldn’t tell the difference between air and steel suspensions. Worries of poor outward visibility were unfounded.

Only a minor complaint: big plastic steering wheel hub bugs me; looks cheap (check latest Porsche wheels) in this price range, and ditto the plastic inner console tray.

According to service managers and techs at two dealers, very few problems with ‘15s.
Look forward to purchase in a few months (Billet Silver Limited Hemi ).

Good luck. I really enjoy my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland V8.

They are great vehicles hope you find one that you really like and purchase it. I have no gripes about the interior. The steering wheel is beautiful!

Re: first test-drive GC – loved it

Congrats! The V8 appears to be the most trouble free of the three drive trains.

Why, what's the problem? I can't express a little enthusiasm? Maybe you had a bad experience?

Airbag in steering wheel and a hidden plastic tray are reasons to complain about a vehicle?

As I indicated, I'm very enthusiastic about the GC and intend to buy. But still, these are (minor) details Jeep could improve. They are items you touch and in this price range should have a more quality feel, IMO. That's all.

I assume or at least hope someone at Chryco product planning reads these forums and continues to push to improve the product. So they should know what buyers are thinking.

While we're at it, I also think LSD should be standard or more readily available across the line in ANY Jeep product, because: it's a Jeep.

While I agree with you on its value, 90+% of people who buy cars don't know what a limited slip is, and even fewer think its worth paying for (either as a standard or as an option), so financially, it makes sense for Jeep not to make it standard.

I had it on my very first pickup back in the day, a 1995 Dakota, and have had several vehicles inbetween that didn't have it. Missed it ever since. Very happy to have it on my current pickup, a 2013 Ram.

The wife and her Jeep, she didn't think it should be a requirement, and in the end, a happy wife equals a happy life. However, there isn't much out here short of serious off-roading that a good set of AT tires and the Jeep 4x4 system can't get us out of. Very happy with it.

Post pictures when you have it narrowed down to the final few, and/or after you purchase one. Always like to see people's new (or new-to-them) rides.
