Went up to Glenwood Springs, CO for the weekend. Was the first drive longer than about 45 minutes for me, since I bought it about 2 weeks ago. 2012 Maximum Steel Altitude with Nav and All Weather Capability group (QTII). First off, I love how smooth the wk2 is on the highway.
I had done some previous research about trails in that area on traildamage.com and found Coffee Pot Road of which, we also went fishing in Deep Creek right where the road starts. That said, I was trying to get further up the mountain to what the trail website suggested, but it took us about 45 minutes until we stopped and turned around. I wanted to get up to those trails but we also didn't want to get stuck in traffic on the way back to Denver, so we turned back down the road. I had seen a trail that was an off-shoot of the road on the way up and when I saw it on the way down I said "What the hell, let's see where this goes". Ended up following the trail and finding a few rock fields along the way.
Here are some pics:

First climb over rocks, feel like I've conquered something

There were about 3-4 rock fields we had to go through and after about a mile the trail sort of dies out (goes off to random campsites), so we turned around and did them on the way back down. I had a great time, even though these rocks weren't anything crazy, it was still fun getting somewhere most vehicles can't.
Here is the Satellite view of that trail:
And here is the link to the rest of the photos, not too many more that I posted above (24 total in album): http://s338.photobucket.com/albums/n...ings%20081012/
Lastly, we hiked Hanging Lake while up there this weekend, which is the coolest place I've ever hiked, so thought I'd leave this:
