Re: Flipper Glass in 2011

I cant imagine they would get rid of the flipping glass. That just dosent make any sense.

If I had to guess, I would say it opens something like this...

Explorers open their rear glass sort of like that currently...

Re: Flipper Glass in 2011

No, there won't be a flipper glass, the designs doesn't allow for it, and to have and engineer it would cost them too much per vehicle. I have to say, I'm disappointed.
I really like the WK flipper, and use it all the time, as others have said, it's usefull if you're unsure if your load has moved rearward, or if you just want access to your cooler. The flipper on the current WK really is a good feature.
And no, an electric tailgate lifter goes nowhere near replacing the quick access that the lift galss allowed.
Strike TWO for me! The designers really should ask current enthusiest owners more questions!

I've never once used the 'flipper' glass.

Re: Flipper Glass in 2011

Just another potential source of rattles, IMO. And they won't lose any sales not having it.

I hope jeep isn't trying to make the WK2 into a dreaded 4x4 mini-van, whats next sliding side doors??...

I totally agree... and so does Jeep

I'm happy to report that the flipper glass has not been eliminated, all 2011 WK models will have it.

Re: Flipper Glass in 2011

I use my flipper glass when the cargo area is so full of crap that I can't open the whole hatch for stuff falling out. Example... Shopping with the wife. lol
