Hi,

Is there anyway you can make the mirrors automatically fold when you turn on/off the car on a 2012 GC limited?

would be very handy if you could!

Ice is why GM switched from electric headlight motors on the 67 Camaro to vacuum on the 68s. A vacuum servo won't burn out. Fiero/Corvette/Reatta are torque sensing so a good module will not let an electric motor burn out any more.

Engineers do learn from ladies setting heavy purses on console window switches.

Think we are starting to see why Jeeps are so expensive overseas, they have different equipment.

I agree, with ever other "bell & whistle" the Overland comes with, it almost seems silly that they didn't include power folding mirrors! :(

Yeah really! We got everything else. Why deny us the power folding mirrors.

This has been covered in another thread. Owners in Australia have been asked to contact their dealers for part numbers and prices for the conversion parts. No response yet. I realize it will be expensive to order new arts, but if we wait a year or two longer, bone-yards in Australia may start to have these parts available. Just waiting for the info.

I wouldnt like an auto folding option. For example, I need to fold the mirror to get into my garage, which I share with a VW. If the mirror opened automatically when I started the motor, the driver's side would scrape the wall. I would rather press a button to operate them.

i have a electrically power folding mirrors and its very useful and use it most of the times when parking or going through some tight places..but with using it i have notices something rather odd which is sometimes when the mirrors are folded and i turn on the car it automatically opens the fold and sometimes it doesnt.

does any one have idea how and why does it happen?

In another thread someone mentioned that it depends on whether you fold the mirrors before or after you shut the car off.

You will have to test that to see if it is how yours work.

On my 2012 they have a mind of their own. Most times they remain folded. Sometimes they decide to unfold by themselves. And sometimes only ONE side mirror unfolds automatically while the other remains all tucked up.
Solution? All the above should be available as options in the EVIC.
It's a Jeep. I've gotten used to it.
