Fond Farewell

Well after many times back to the dealer for software issues, computer replacement, and recalls, I finally called it quits.

Picked up my new truck, on 5.2.2014 put over 300 miles on it already and no issues, the computer went at around 200 miles with the Jeep.

I tried my best to work with the dealer (they were very good and tried their best) to get these issues fixed, but every time I got in I crossed my fingers and hoped everything would work. Sometimes service air suspension would show up, ACC not working, phone not pairing, inside lights not working, ect.

The final straw was the last loaner car given to me was a minivan, couldn`t even drive it, (just kidding about the minivan) but when I picked up my jeep from the dealer, I started it up and the service air suspension warning came on.

The sad thing about this whole thing is for the last week while I was waiting for my truck to come in, the Jeep ran perfect, not one issue, well I hope someone else will enjoy it and have no problems with it.

Sounds like you did the right thing by dumping it. Some cars are lemons, no point in trying to turn a Lemon into a....something other than a lemon. Hope your new vehicle isn't as unlucky as the jeep was.

What'd you get to replace the jeep?

I had to do the same thing with my early build 2014 Limited GC 4x4 V6. Got the first warning light while driving off the dealership's lot. Transmission never shifted 100% right from day one, and a couple of days before I traded it in for my late build 2014 Overland, a couple new warning lights came on one time after starting. I must of brought that POS to the dealership about 8 times trying to get everything sorted out (including all the TSBs)...good riddance.

Although my new Overland has been perfect so far (fingers crossed), I estimate I lost about $5,000 trading in the Limited so early...so in my mind Chrysler owes me that money for selling me a lemon.

I never understood these "Farewell" threads. It's like getting a new girlfriend or wife but still talking about the issues you had with your x.

Poor Horse Maybe. Maybe Not. I went through the same thing and I'm still lurking on the site thinking Jeep will turn It's self around so I can buy another one. Jeep gets in your blood. I love my new Volvo and the service is equal to Mercedes. Why can't Jeep offer the same level of service? If Jeep doesn't do something soon I see them in ending up in the same boat as General Motors. Customers will only take it so long. Early Jeep Grand Cherokees were delivered with known defects.The only difference was Jeep thought dealers could handle the service on these vehicles. Didn't happen!
Straighten Yourself out and I'll be back.
In a way I take offense to your post. We all loved the New Grand Cherokee when it was introduced. Spent 40 to 50 grand for the vehicle! From no fault of our own have we moved on.

That air lift suspension sounds like a lemon. Gosh, more issues posted about that, than all others combined.

Don't know where you had your oil changed but I never paid over $150.00 for the yearly change on the Mercedes.The Volvo will be less and anyway the dealer pays for three free. Plus a loaner is provided every time.

Since we're name dropping I did all the maintenance on my previous Audi's that wasn't covered under warranty. Oil extractor + $27 @ Wallyworld for 5 qrts of syn Mobil1 and OEM filter for $10.
I will continue to DIY with the Jeep which will hopefully be limited to maintenance and modifications.
