Re: For all owners wk2

As long as my flux capacitor is fueled....I like to hit 88 mph before I see some serious sh!t. I'm not sure about your questions, are you asking for a safe speed limit?

Re: For all owners wk2

I think there is a speed governor set to 120 mph. I know the tires are only rated at 105 mph on the trail rated version (20" have V rated). So no, I don't think it's possible that person is driving over 230 kph in a Jeep Wk2, not only governed speed by physically impossible without (tire, wheel, suspension, ECU) modifications. SRT8 I'm sure can it that, but still not safe due to this high CG.

I haven't hit my v8's maximum speed yet. Mind you I'm one of those crazy people who don't race in an SUV.

Please see also TSB 18-034-11
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1803411.pdf

The two selectable limits that correspond to the different tires are 130 mph or 140 mph.

That's why I have a dedicated track car used in safe environments. The OP may live in Eurpoe where he has access to the autobahn, even in that case I wouldn't think about going above 85. She's a heavy vehicle, getting to those speeds are not what concerns me....it's coming back down to a stop.

I call bullshit on this. I've owned a WK1 and WK2 SRT8 and they do just fine at high speeds. Took my WK1 to 158.2mph verified by GPS and my WK2 to 153mph so far. It'll do 160+. SRT has designed them to handle those speeds. Hop over to DriveSRT.com and watch some videos on the engineering of the WK2 suspension/handling.

Re: For all owners wk2

Suspect the cars are limited to the speed rating of the OEM tires.

Re: For all owners wk2

I've only had my V6 to 173 kph. It was raring to go faster, but I ran out of straight, deserted road. Wouldn't want to go faster without speed rated tires anyway.
