Re: For some very very very strange reason.......

Don't Get White you'll regret it.

I got my wife a White VW CC. Boy do I regret it. It looks sharp. But it's filthy instantly. Her prior VW was black. Never white again.

Any other color but white.

The greys are really nice, the blue, the red, the black. But forget the white.

I've been getting red jeeps forever. But I'd certainly be happy with some of the greys, I forget which one, but it's gorgeous (has nice shadows).

Unless you live in the south where it gets very hot, and there is no salt for snow and no dust where a white will stay clean for a little bit.

So to be clear, you're not recommending white?

Re: For some very very very strange reason.......

If you can wait you should.
There are a few good things that will work in your favor in a few months.

1.2015 Toyota Highlander is coming out in a few weeks(gonna have a look on Saturday at the auto show).
2.That will drive down the price of JGC
3.I believe you can get that color for in the Highlander.
4.The Highlander has the flipper glass hatch and seats 8..

DIf you love the WK2 get the WK2.

I admit , Im tempted as well.
Waiting til 2017 arrive tho.

^^^

Will never ever ever get a Highlander.... LOL Seriously will not.

Here is where I am at (at the moment) which is solidifying rapidly:

2014 Grand Cherokee 4x4 V8 Summit with brown interior and white* exterior. No other options added (esp. not the stupid single CD or the outdated & awkward DVD player things).

*Need to look at the Deep Auburn Pearl Coat though before pulling the trigger......and one side by side test drive of the V6 vs. V8 (although 85% sure V8).

I'm gradually warming up to American vehicles after being a German buyer for the past 12 years (9 cars). I just couldn't justify spending over $50k for an American vehicle, but this Jeep is definitely changing things IMHO. It looks like the gap has narrowed for the time being.

Keep the Hemi, and get something other than black, white, or 5 shades of grey. Be unique. I do like the brown interior. White is a tough color to maintain also. It looks OK from a distance, but will show every little tar speck, rail dust, etc. when looking close. Everytime you wash, you'll be grabbing for the Tarminator.

Re: For some very very very strange reason.......

I personally like white and never had dirt showing issues with any of the white vehicles we have owned. Not so with the darker colors. They always look dirty from the lighter colored dust and mud around here. The reflective qualities also are nice when the sun is hot. I would have bought a white Summit if that color was available when I was purchasing. But it wasn't. Very subjective, however.

I too am very satisfied with the white color.

My mom cant drive a dirty car. She had a black MDX which she used to wash at least once every week, her white MDX on the other hand, she washes once every month or so.

Re: For some very very very strange reason.......

Thanks for all the feedback y'all. That's what makes this such a great forum! Keep it coming...

So, ended up at two dealerships today (tires rotated last week and noticed a shimmy so got them balanced today)......saw the Deep Auburn in person at the second dealership (they have only one and the only one in the area I can find). I like it....and beautiful, but am still leaning toward the clean crisp white. The Deep Auburn is sorta like the green, very beautiful, but also very color specific which I might get tired of in a year. Don't know if I want a "brown" Jeep for the next three years......Brown exterior with brown interior may just be a bit too much brown???

So, probably set on Summit 4x4 V8 in white with brown interior. Of course, V8 4x4's are hard to find in South Florida since 90% are not 4x4.

I still haven't heard a good reason how Florida got the nickname sunshine state since many of the times I've been there, it had many overcast days and rain showers popping up all the time. But I guess they had to come up with some nickname. But you can't go wrong with white.
