I don't forget people either, but I'm 100% certain my GT is 110 so I assume the 80 you mentioned is yours...if you really are/were a soldier. what infantry? would explain your lack or reading comprehension or your poor logic.

Jesus Christ man, let it go. I never said you badging your jeep bothered me. Hell, I complimented your jeep... Talk about reading comprehension. And no... I'm a medic... So obviously my GT has to be over 110. Just go back and read those threads... I never bashed anyone.

Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

But Prodigy, heres the thread I was trying to find, he has the last dyno numbers he mentioned but he did just up to 14

How much power you think the 3.6L pentatstar is capable of?

Yeah I was just talking about stock. I'm not familiar with your Jeep.

Yeah, that's absolutely incredible what he's been able to do. I literally just saw the YouTube video the other day with RIPP pushing 403hp to the wheels on the V6. It blew my mind lol. I can't believe this guy doesn't race! Hopefully he's beefed up his brakes, tires and suspension as well.

Yeah he's got the brakes and suspension or at least in the protection of doing it. I'm trying to turbo mine

Come on man I'm not stupid I have owned an SRT, I have owned the 5.7, I have owned the V6. I know the V6 would be a joke against the SRT..Hell, I have owned cars that would run circles around a 13 second SRT... and I know its hard to swallow, but the SRT really is just a 13 second vehicle. A lot of family sedans can do that these days...Anyway, my point is why do you have to come into this thread and put down the vehicle that most members on this site own? The V6 WK2 is not fast, it never was intended to be, but to call it a joke, or that it takes days to get to 60? Considering what it is it actually moves fairly decently and only marginally slower than the 5.7 at best. Lets just hope you don't have to go through the agony of being stuck in a WK2 V6 loaner again though. I don't even know how this thing gets me to work everyday

That's crazy!! My 2006 Z06 vette had the 427 LS7 engine and I swear that thing was a light weight. I'll have to look up the stats on that engine, but even though it is still an "old school" pushrod engine, I bet it weighed half what that Hemi engine weighs!
They don't call the 426 hemi engine from that era an elephant motor for nothing. As I recall, the 429 Ford engines were also great for boat anchors. But then again, I was a GM guy then so Chrysler and Ford vehicles were mortal enemies. OK, back on topic.

Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

In going through the last several pages of this, it seems to always be the V-6 guys telling the V-8 guys the V-8, "isn't that much more powerful". It's a bit like they're trying to convince themselves more than the V-8 owners.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I've got a HEMI and I'm glad I do. I bought it with the possibility of towing in the future. But I have to admit, after I nailed it for the first time, I was vary satisfied with it's acceleration, along with the fact the engine was only turning 2,000 RPM at 80 M.P.H.

To me it only stands to reason the slower an engine turns on the highway in top gear, the longer it will last. Before the advent of all of these multi speed automatic overdrive transmissions, engines never went to the high mileage numbers they do today without wear related internal problems.

That's only because the V8 owners are usually the first to put down the V6. But of course, you don't see that.

Hard to see what isn't there. If a HEMI V-8 owner say's a Penstar V-6 is less powerful, that is not "putting it down". It is simply stating a fact. The V-6 owners take those type of statements too personally. I've been driving a 1991 Ford F-150 for the last 25 years, with a 5.0 V-8 that can't get out of it's own way. That's a fact. I don't take it personal when someone else points it out.

It's there, you just need to look. You can't start a thread like this without it happening.

If you're paying attention, the problem isn't with the V8 owners saying the V6 is less powerful... it's in the way they say it. That's what usually opens up the can of worms and starts the pissing match. You may not take it personally but it's a guarantee that others will.

No matter how you stack it, it sounds like a bunch of hurt feelings to me. I mean really, how do you say something is less powerful, without saying it's less powerful?
