Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

Yeah the fuel economy isn't crazy different, but enough to notice and the V6 burns regular fuel which is nice. Hemi does as well, but it does say recommends mid grade for best performance (so I always used mid). Basically, I would get between 350 to 370 miles to a tank with the V8, the V6 will get me up to 430 doing the same commute. So it's roughly a 4 mpg difference between them is what I'm seeing so far. Considering I don't need the V8, ill take whatever I can get.

I still own a 91' mustang with the 5.0 mated to a 5 speed. In its day it was a fast car. Today I think a Honda Accord would destroy it.

I will, still gonna be a while off while I save up for it. Done all the research and found all the parts I'll need. Plus I have a means of tuning it

Here's an article with tested results showing differences in weight, acceleration, and stopping distance between a V6 pentastar Limited and a 5.7L V8 Hemi Overland: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee V-6 and V-8 First Tests - Truck Trend

Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

I'm getting a very respectable 21-22 mpg on the highway with the Hemi in my Ram 1500 4x4 with the 3.92 lsd and 16.3 mpg over the last 7,800 miles of mixed driving. I'm quite happy with that vs my previous 2013 F150 and 2010 Ram 1500.

Have been looking at the Hemi JGC Overland w/overland II package but was bummed to see they reduced the Hemi HP and Torque vs the Ram 1500 so I'm looking at SRT8's now.

Its due to the gear ratio of the GC vs the Ram. I know its dumb but i guess it was for mpg.

No the ram 5.7 has a different intake manifold and exhaust manifolds and a different tune. The gears have nothing to do with advertised power because power is advertised at the crank
