Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

I took mine out for a few hours yesterday on some country highways. I put it in sport mode and turned off the radio. The sound of that engine was entertainment enough.

Yep. Sport mode and gas mileage do not go in the same sentence, because every time I use it, the little gas mileage setting that tracks it on the fly drops to zero on my dash But MY does it sound lovely.

Then again, I bought a Hemi in a 5,000lb+ SUV. I wasn't expecting gas mileage to begin with haha.

Sometimes its not about being reasonable.
Now you're talking! I bought a Hemi cause I wanted a Hemi! It's reliable, powerful, it sounds great, and if I wanted something that sounded like a fart in a tin can, I would have bought the V6 or the diesel!! No thanks . . .

"Sounded like a fart in a tin can." Up until now I didn't know how to describe that sound but I guess that pinpoints it!!
Now I want to know who farted in a tin can to make the comparison??

I've described every riced out Civic as having a fart can on the back, because I couldn't think of any other sound to explain it

Re: For those who drive a Hemi 5.7

Power
Sound
Knowing that you got the top line engine offered by Jeep in you WK2 (not SRT for sure)
ability to step on the pedal halfway to pass cars on the highway (V6 peddle all the way)
the jump + downshifting and strong kick in acceleration when depressing the peddle all the way.

and of course a Hot Rod Hemi

Capt. Billy Tyne (The Perfect Storm):
The fog's just lifting.
Open the garage door; foot on the brake; push the start button and hear the roar.
You head out to I-57, past Markham, Matteson. Passing Sauk trail where I used to exit to visit a girl I dated as a kid.
Blow your horn and throw a wave to the kid in the duct-taped CJ you're passing. Open the pano and the sun hits ya - head South. Open up to 80 ... 90.... 100 - steamin' now.
All 8 cylinders singing an American muscle tune; you're in charge.
Ya know what?
You're driving a Jeep with HEMI. Is there any thing better in the world?
