Freaking Dots Dots Dots and more Freaking DOTS!!!

About three weeks ago found a little time to clay bar my truck and give it a nice coat of paint sealer.

A nice generous coat of Wolfgang Paint Sealer 3.0.

Took some pics and updated some of my garage pics and my avatar.

I was even getting lots of compliments about how pretty the color is etc.

The the other day I go to wash the car after neglecting it for two weeks and want do I find.

DOTS!!!!!

That's right freaking dots of white paint or something all over my truck.

The more I check the more I find dots and more freaking DOTS!

I am just venting.

If I had not given the paint some love I would not have been as pissed as I am right now.

The worse part is I don't have the time to go over the truck the way I want to get rid of all these Freaking DOTS !

I am not even sure if it is paint over spray or if it is something else and I don't even know when the damage occurred. I might even have remove my window decals cuz they are covered with FREAKIN' DOTS too!

I guess I will have to steal some time here and there and work on a section at time getting it off then going over the truck with my DA polisher then seal it all in with some more wolfgang.

How do I get off this hampster wheel

Okay I am done venting.

Could it be dried water spots? Maybe there were some showers overnight and the water dried?

Re: Freaking Dots Dots Dots and more Freaking DOTS!!!

I'd suggest trying a citrus base cleaner. They are pretty good at taking paint and ink off of stuff while not damaging whats underneath.

This guy had some good results with a degreaser.

Hope it helps

Since you have a layer of paint sealer, you might want to try a polishing compound with a light buffing action in a discrete test location to see if it works. If its water spots, then the dots are mineral/chemical deposits in the sealer. At least you have the sealer so its not in the clearcoat!

Re: Freaking Dots Dots Dots and more Freaking DOTS!!!

It seems to be some type of paint over spray.

I used some clay on half the hood and it was reluctantly coming off.

I saw a trick on youtube where you can use the car wash shampoo as lubricant for the clay.

So I can wash, clay the rinse, instead of wash it , dry it; then clay it.

I scraped the windows with a razor blade last night.

You wouldn't beleive how this stuff is all over the B and C pillar trim and on the rubber seals.

GRRRR.

Maybe it's a secret message! Have you tried connecting them?

Sorry, just trying to bring a smile to this unfortunate situation. I hope you get it taken care of without too much stress.
