Re: From a truck to a Jeep :)

Hey there everyone, thanks for all the comments I really appreciate it!!!

Alaska is BEAUTIFUL, the picture opportunities up here are amazing!!!

At BlackPepper... I completely forgot that I had the date set on my camera LOL :P It ruined these pictures with that stupid date at the bottom. Photoshop works wonders hopefully.

Thanks again everyone! I really appreciate all the comments I'll try and be around more often. I love this site!!! I have learned so much here!!!

Re: From a truck to a Jeep :)

Well hello again everyone I really appreciate all the wonderful comments! Thanks! So I figured I would give a 2 month update on my Jeep... and I'm sad to say that I'm not to impressed with this $50,000 vehicle. Maybe someone can chime in and help me out with the issue's I am having. Now before I start let me say that I am EXTREMELY PICKY when it comes to vehicles! It's the small things that bother me! So here you go, maybe other people have had the same issues as me:

#1 The BIGGEST thing that is bothering me beyond words! I get this shudder feeling in either the transmission or engine I can't tell when I am accelerating. I don't know how to really explain it... I have also had hard shifting up in gears once in a while. but it's annoying! I brought it to the dealers attention, and they couldn't find the issue. But they did do an update to my PCM box. I am going to have to bring it back so they can look into it more! This is ridiculous!!!

#2 I have an IPOD touch that I like to play music through via the ipod cable in the center counsel. Well each time I want to play it, I have to un-plug the ipod and plug it back in! REALLY??? Do I really need to do this each time I want to play it? Shouldn't the radio just recognize it when I select the USB on the radio? I don't understand???

#3 This just recently happened... I noticed while showing someone the Quadra-lift feature on my Jeep, the back end sounded horrible!!! Like it was dry and crusty... Why would it be so noisy? Do I need to lift and lower the Jeep once in a while to keep the system from getting crusty? (Maybe... ^ this may seem petty but it sure bothered me!!!)

#4 I have a squeak/click noise coming from the seat belt where it goes into the Jeep door frame area. Since it is right next to my ear I hear it all the time when I am driving. I haven't looked at that yet to see if something just needs to be pushed back in place, but it's annoying!

And the final thing, the tires... HORRIBLE!!! I am looking online right now for a good set of all season tires that will fit the Jeep! And looking on Jeepgarage to see what everyone else is running. The tires I have now are horrible in the rain! I can't imagine when the snow falls up here how they would perform. Very soon I will be purchasing a new set of tires for my baby.

So there are a few things that are bothering me with this Jeep, but overall I am happy! I will get these things fixed and continue to enjoy her! Every vehicle has it's qwerks right? Thanks for listening to my rant everyone

Re: From a truck to a Jeep :)

Can't comment on most of your issues as I have V6 Limited, but they are correctable. As far as tires go, I plan on putting Michelin LTX M&S 2's on as permanent tires this fall. I do not know if they are available in your size if you have 20" ers.

Re: From a truck to a Jeep :)

Hey there AAAA thx I agree these things are fixable with time. I still love the Jeep and I get compliments all the time

I checked out the Michelin really quick, those look like good tires. Now granted I haven't done a ton of research on these tires yet, but these are what have caught my eye so far:

- Nitto Terra Grapplers
- Kuhmo Road Venture SAT KL 61
- General Grabber AT2

I'd like to find something a tad bit aggressive, I like the aggressive look But something that will do well in the snow. Granted Alaska doesn't get a lot of snow, but it gets cold here, then it get's warm, then it gets cold again... which = to ice You should see how many vehicles are in the ditch during the winter :O It's unbelievable!!! I don't want to be one of those people!!! I had BFG All Terrain's on my truck and I loved them!!! So we will see, time will tell!
