From Level To Lift

Just wanted to share a few pics and opinions of my latest mod. I removed the leveling kit and installed the RRO 2.5" lift and am glad I did, I also removed lower air dam fins which improve the look considerably. Let me start by saying the level looked awesome but when loaded up with people, gas and cargo the jeep does sag some in the rear and IMO did not look right in this stance. I was never a big fan of the rake or nose down look but with the lift it is not so bad given the additional ground clearance. As for ride quality I just retured from a road trip to Canada with wife and two kids plus gear and no noticeable difference in ride except being a bit stiff on deep potholes when unavoidable. MPG seemed about the same and handling overall has not really been affected. Its hard to find a pic that actually reads as you see it in person but these are close. It is a very noticeable difference visually and I think it looks awesome.

Looks very nice. Did you do the install yourself? What prompted you to lift it? My stock setup with 20 inch wheels will hop a NYC curb just fine. Planning to take it off road?

I have taken it off road several times and all went well. I chose the lift for both aesthetics and offroad clearance when I get in some light wheeling. I also do a lot of beach driving. I had a 4x4 shop install. Jeeps should look and perform like jeeps IMHO otherwise there are plenty of crossovers to choose from.

Re: From Level To Lift

CC couple of things.

1. Yes it looks awesome!

2. Before with just the level did you have any rubbing issues off-road?

3. The rear sagged even with the load leveling suspension in rear?

Thx! I have never had any rubbing with either set up, came close once on a large half buried log but no problems. I have a dealer installed tow package so its only the hitch, bezel and wiring.

I have QT2 with the All Weather Capability Group and driving on the beach is no problem whatsoever. I had a 2012 QT1 with 20s before this one and had no problems on sand either, just air down to 18 psi and turn off ESC.

O.K. than I probably won't have that problem with just the level since I have the factory hitch. So it's good to know you took a long hwy trip with family and all was good. So the lift doesn't create any additional road noise or any other hwy issues?
