Re: Front bumper cover removal

WOOO HOOOO...a poster from the other forum REALLY came through! He found the instructions for bumper removal here: http://www.aemfg.com/pdfs/BX1128.pdf

The instructions are to install a motorhome pull plate to our trucks but the removal process for the bumper is there. Lots of detail and photos!

Re: Front bumper cover removal

I took mine to the dealer to have the grille replaced.....was only $60 and well worth not having to dismantle the front of the car myself.

Re: Front bumper cover removal

Just got off the phone with pattyboy. It's sooooooo simple to do guys. HOWEVER: you WILL need to REPLACE (can't reuse them) 4 plastic pop-rivets that hold the edge of the bumper to the fender flare and fender liner.

Other than that, it's cake.

Thanks Pat for your help!

Re: Front bumper cover removal

all you need then are plastic rivets and a plastic rivet gun. there are tons of posts here about those and where to get them. justforjeeps has both or ebay.

Re: Front bumper cover removal

Are the "insert" and the 7 spoke "grill" two separate pieces? I assume you can just slip a new "insert" into the original OEM 7 spoke grill, correct?

Re: Front bumper cover removal

No the summit grille will accept inserts. Were as the stock overland. Black mesh is one piece and is part of the structure, that's not to say it can't be modified<a href="http://s1105.photobucket.com/albums/...10214-1638.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="see photos of back side of overland grille

Re: Front bumper cover removal

No, the overland grille will not take inserts ..as stated the black mesh is part of the grille structure .it cant be eliminated....I assume the inserts r going to be available as a possible replacement for the summit grille only!!!! when and if they get damaged
